Went to Thai Square for dinner with friends. There aren't many choices in St Albans that aren't Italian or thai and this is one of the better thai restaurants around. Food was fine, service patchy but generally a good evening. They could do with putting some heating in the bathrooms!
After enjoying the Trafalgar Square Thai Square, I was looking forward to trying one closer to my home. Booked The St Albans restaurant with a reasonably high expectation based on my past experience. Sadly I was disappointed. I liked the decor, we were seated right away, ordered quickly, food arrived in good time....But thats when the wheels came off. The food and service were both excellent and considering we ordered a number of cocktails and pink champagne our bill was very fair. The only let down was that there was no atmosphere! Now count down to 2015 or any organised celebrations! That aside we had a very nice evening and would revisit again. M
The best tempura vegetables I've ever had. And I've eaten them in many many restaurants over the years. Service was top form, very helpful and accomdating, Went on sat evening last minute at 10pm, our meal was slightly rushed as they obviously aren't open until the early hours, however still thoroughly enjoyed. Definitely worth a visit
The food was great but the service was poor we had ordered prawn crackers for the table which we didn't receive. When we had finished our drinks noone came over to see if would like another.
Ambience is great. Had a group out for a Christmas party. Comfortable seating. Staff were just not enough in numbers for effective service. Long waits between meals,tables not cleaned in between, delay with drinks and not too confident with the menu.They really did their best. Food was good and portion sizes generous. Cannot compare to the other branches. Would go back again but in non peak time and perhaps a smaller group.
The food was very good very enjoyable, where the restaurant struggled a bit is getting the balance between great service and the feeling of being rushed. They may be be used to people wanting to eat quickly and leave, we wanted to relax with friends. We had to keep saying that and it after a while they picked up on it, but it was good so Iwould go back.
Lovely food and nice staff. Would definitely visit again.
The food at this restaurant really is exceptional. The waiting staff are very polite indeed though in our experience a bit over stretched when the restaurant is busy like it stage night went. The restaurant is also visually stunning.
