I was very impressed by their processes and systems. Dominick came to our house and surveyed the basement. He knew exactly what we needed, typed up everything into his computer, and emailed me his estimate before he even left the house on the first visit. We changed the plan a few times and signed the detal. His people were here a few weeks later, the job was initiated and completed in the time they said it would take. Not one hiccup.Very competent installers and professional experience. I highly recommend them.
They had the best infrastructure and they would have been able to handle this. They had their own office. I liked that I could call and get updates on my projects. They had a group that would do the follow up. They gave us exactly what we needed. They didn’t add anything to the estimate that wasn’t needed or requested. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. Everyone who worked in my basement showed up early in the day and were courteous. Other than the noise, I did not know there were even workers in the house. Everything was cleaned up each day. I was communicated with regularly via email to be kept aware of who was coming when. All callouts were corrected immediately We waited 4 years to do this project. the price was reasonable, the rooms are beautiful and I am glad I could use a local company. We love it!
My husband and I visited the Basement Store in Flemington, NJ. This might be a drive for some folks but it is definitely worth the trip. The showroom is complete with everything you need to plan and design your new basement. You can see the whole project from start to finish. Dominick was great. Very knowledgeable. Horrible customer service. no follow up. Did not answer questions or listen to anything. Basically came to house and provided a 43,000 quote with no breakouts. Just a magic number.
They responded within a few days. They said they do do that work but won’t unless they get a full basement remodel. I certainly want to do it but not sure why I have to pay for a full basement remodel to get a leaky window replaced. Seems greedy. They should take their name off of the window-egress section if they only do full basement remodels.

BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! I had them remodel my basement. They punctured my water proofing system by using nails vs. liquid nails which resulted in mold growing in our basement (health concerns) and now will not take ANY accountability. The water proofers stepped up and fixed the issue right away for us because they were concerned for our health but Basic Basements could care less!!!! If you think you are going to pay $9999 for 800 sq.ft. basement, well, think again. Our BASIC 840 sq.ft. basement estimate came out to be over 19K - and this is without painting and floor. All we wanted is perimeter walls and 3 doors, no bathroom, no wet bar - nothing fancy, just the basics. They threw in a ton of extra electrical work that my husband (a retired electrician) told them was absolutely not needed.
