The most beautiful restaurant/bar in the Twin Cities..at least that I've been to...and the food is very good. We took friends from Edina who had never been to the Commodore and our only complaint was having to abandon the dining room, where our reservation was, for the bar. The noise level in the dr is way too high for comfortable conversation; bar was much better though still plenty energetic on the rating scale. Excellent scallops for me; don't remember what others ate.
Food was very tasty but expensive. It just seems that you could serve this same quality for less. The price point makes it a place wed visit only on special occassions.
Have gone to the Commodore a handful of times now and it has never disappointed. Delicious food and a fun setting.
The food was good, but not excellent. What should have been hot arrived tepid on cold plates. The restaurant does not offer espresso. The Fitzgerald cocktail was very good. I would return only for cocktails; not for a meal.
Fabulous staff. Good food and a fun evening. I would do it again and again. There are food options from great fries to lobster deviled eggs to steak tartare.
Excellent service with affordable wine list. Our server was a real professsional. Food was wonderfull.
Attentive service. Great food and cocktails. Great atmosphere. Good place to talk. A wide variety of price points.

I contacted the manager regarding an unpleasant experience with the hosts found in the hallway gossiping about our table being late, and that we could not transfer a bar tab to the table, though in his response he claimed that should have been an option. While we found the food memorable, and our server professional, I felt that the lack of management presence and training diluted the experience, and for that reason I found it lacking in value as well... read more
