Went for a routine check up and cleaning. Spent an hour in the waiting room then received only x-rays. Afterwards some lady, I am assuming the dental hygienist, comes in to tell me I have severe periodontal disease and that I need to make an appointment to take care of that. Not to mention, she said my insurance might not cover the treatment. This place is the worst! they will treat you badly and blame your insurance for any and all of their incompetence. So if you have insurance and money you wish to pay out of pocket for treatments your insurance won't cover, I suggest you avoid this place like the plague! I called for a quote, was told I need to be seen in person (baiting patients) to get said quote! I book this appointment to get there and be told I made an appointment for a cleaning! Where do I even start?.... I went to The Smilist in Amityville in December 2021 to meet Dr. Grace D'Oria - O'Connor because she had several good reviews on a couple of websites.  She was friendly and began to work on some of my cavities with fillings.  The first issue I realized was that I wasn't given enough numbing / novocaine.  She injected the gum but didn't do the cotton swab method first.  All the other 10+ dentists I've gone to in the past gave me enough of it where it causes the edge of your tongue or lip to go num... read more

a hygienist gene targeted the only tooth that ever was filled years ago to try to create a tooth infection and pain for months to come. With the metal tartar tool she practically broke my tooth filing twice within seconds then moved on as if she did nothing and left the room. mind you she did this right after taking xrays and claimed a cavity can form within 6 months she says now. after months of pain this place is a scam.

I will never go to this location ever again. Took a day off of work to get stitches removed after a surgery. I showed up for my appointment where I was told that they rescheduled it and claimed they called me (they never did) and told me that nobody else on their staff was able to remove the stitches. They told me my only option was to come in the following week and take another day off of work and the lady at the front desk was totally unapologetic. ***DO NOT GO TO THESE CON ARTISTS*** my fiancé has had ongoing issues with them for a year. First off their billing department is completely incompetent. They tell her things are covered and it's a mistake and then send the same bill over and over. Their dental work is shotty and they said over the phone that they would fix the shotty work that came out free of charge. Then when she got there they refuse to honor that and held her mouth ransom for hundreds of hundreds of dollars. I've never heard of medical " professionals "... read more

Zero stars!!!! I called this office for an appointment on Tuesday at 10am, because my son was in a great deal of pain and no one bothered to answer my call and no matter what option I chose nothing worked, so I left a voicemail message hoping to receive a call back. I called again on Wednesday and while I spoke to someone who apparently just started working there, so I tried to remain calm, patient and understanding because we've all been there. I not recommend this place at all, I've recently received a text message a week a go to see the dentist, after a week waiting and receiving a couple more app confirmation I showed up the day at the desk after driving a hour from the Amityville location to find out I was not scheduled for that day or so, they have no clue about me. Very disappointed too bad for them.
