Dr. Lane is awesome. Although going to the dentist is NEVER fun (even when your dentist is really pretty), she has really good bedside manner and tries to make the experience as comfortable as possible. She's done a few fillings for me as well as a couple extractions (molar and wisdom tooth). Unlike other dentists in the area, she's very thorough and she'll get the job done even if it's difficult.

My crown fell off my tooth on September 12, 2026 I came to this office after my crown came off, because my regular dentist was unavailable due to a Jewish holiday. I brought the crown with me. During the visit, they took an X-ray and told me that the tooth might be restorable. When I asked what I should do with my existing crown, I handed it to the dentist. Unfortunately, All Smiles Dentistry (affiliated with The Smilist Dental in Greenwich Village) has really gone downhill since Dr. Alina Lane left. I was a patient here for over a decade when Dr. Lane was practicing and always had excellent experiences with her. But over the past couple of years, things have changed significantly. BEWARE - Misleading Pricing I booked a cleaning with The Smilist after seeing their website clearly advertise a New Patient Cleaning Special for $199. The day before my appointment, they called and told me it would actually cost $375. When I pointed out that their own website still showed $199, the representative dismissed it and even implied that I "cannot read." I was a patient here for over ten years. It was great until they sold it to The Smilist. Since then, they've over-billed me multiple times for services I didn't get or that they didn't explain would cost more. For my last appointment they send me a random bill, saying they "forgot" to charge me at the appointment. The bill didn't line up with what my insurance told me I owed. I was a long time customer of this practice and had overall a great experience, but it looks like since the practice expanded and was taken over by the Smilist things have gone downhill. My last appointment, I was made to wait 45 minutes. During this time, I was forced to do some unnecessary X-rays despite multiple protests, which they later tried to charge me out of pocket for, and ultimately charged my insurance even if they said it's free (illegal). Leaving this practice after three years because of terrible treatment by the staff. I am still waiting to be reimbursed for this visit because the office put the wrong treatment location on the claim form.

Cleaning was good, but the reception is not. Was greeted initially by rude reception, A woman named Whitney ostracizing me on being unable to open their timed door. Mispronouncing my name after I kindly corrected them. Then, the only reason I come to this place is because they tell me that they will be able to scan my teeth and send it out to Invisalign to see if I'm eligible.
