I couldn't have been happier with my experience. This was my first visit here. I have never, in all my life, had such a thorough cleaning (Melissa did my cleaning and x rays). Not only did she meticulously clean my teeth (without causing me any pain), but she was extremely knowledgeable and reviewed my x rays with me and explained concerning points and what I could do to improve my situation. I had broken my front tooth over the weekend and DR. A immediately saw me and fixed my tooth promptly. DR.A is warm , friendly and bubbly . I have also received a cleaning from Melissa who did an excellent job! My teeth feel and look amazing thanks to the Smilist! My experience has been that the Smilist treats their patients like family , and I would recommend them to everyone!

Do not trust the integrity or knowledge of the staff. Not only do they lack basic HIPPA considerations, they openly discuss patient information and speak poorly of them in front of other patients. The office manager is incompetent as well. They misinform plan options and play games rather than expediting your refund. Choose another practice that demands mature professional judgement, proper training and smarter leadership!

Utter incompetence! I have had many medical and dental services over my lifetime but this office truly baffled me. They don't know how to schedule appointments- seriously. For example, my insurance allows 4 cleanings per year, in other places they were calendared ahead of time one each quarter. Here: they only schedule 1 appointment, then tell you the next available appointment is 4 months. So basically you miss your second cleaning. Most unprofessional office I have ever encountered. Left my appointment feeling like the oral surgeon was talking down to me and he told me that I had a very high risk of dying during a standard wisdom teeth removal... I was shocked and in disbelief but if the oral surgeon wasn't comfortable performing the procedure, that's fine, he referred me elsewhere anyways. This practice deserves zero stars. Don't let the positive reviews fool you- Dr. Chernoff and Dr. Gol are completely incompetent. I had to have an emergency root canal done by another practice and needed 10 days of antibiotics less than 72 hours after being seen by BOTH of these doctors.

Bunch of con artists. Tried overcharging me for two fillings and ended up giving me a "free" evaluation despite having unknowingly had a full evaluation during my cleaning at the commack location. An evaluation they felt needed to be done less than 3 weeks after my cleaning/evaluation at Commack. Now I can't get an evaluation done for the rest of the year under my insurance and no other place will see me without an evaluation of their own. Would give zero stars if I could. I do not recommend the The Smilist Dental (Smithtown, NY) as the clerical and billing staff are the most incompetent people I have had to work with in a professional office. I have had numerous errors in prior billing that were all resolved several years ago. But I recently have been receiving text and email messages for a $40 invoice which, when I called two weeks ago, I was assured was paid at the time of service several years ago. Last cleaning I had, they told me I had two cavities. They filled them but one was still giving me issues and a tooth next to it was now having issues. After visiting back THREE times, I was told that they would redo my filling and they found an air pocket in it. I asked how that happens, and they told me they were unsure.
