We finally got rid of our pool man since he kept raising our rate. Bought the elite pool cleaner and our pool has never looked so good. Definitely recommend buying a leaf canister as well.

The cleaner covers the pool and pool walls well and is easy enough to use. My only complaint is that the larger leaves I get in my pool jam the cleaner and I have to take it out of the pool to clear the jam. My old Hayward cleaner dealt with the leaves with no issue. Now I have to use a leaf rake/net before I put the cleaner in which kind of defeats the purpose of the cleaner. For your information the leaves the jam the cleaner are from a plant called a red sister.

To reduce large debris jamming, remove the yellow debris inlet to widen the port on the bottom of the cleaner. This should allow larger debris to pass through. I had an older MX8 that worked great for a few years. Then after two rebuilds it still was not working most of the time. My new MX8 has my pool looking great and so far it is doing a end to end job of cleaning. It only got up on the wide step once and didn't get back off.
