NOT like the original. Lasted only a few months. The original that came with our cleaner lasted well over a year. I purchased TWO of these units and the first lasted less than 3 months before ripping apart at the problem area others have noted (right at the tip of the yellow solid part, inside the suction tube). I'm "glad" I ordered 2 of them? Not sure the second one will last any longer, and if it doesn't, these are the last ones I'll be ordering from Amazon. This diaphragm was delivered to me at the end of ... This diaphragm was delivered to me at the end of April and installed in the middle of May. The first week of June it ruptured at the point where the top of the yellow piece is. The is the second diaphragm in less than six months that I had to replace. The last one was replaced by Leslies on December 24th,2016.
Think twice before buying! Well I guess it was to good to be true! I purchased this item a little less than two months ago and the silicone has torn rendering it useless. I took their word that this was an upgraded diaphragm. I tried emailing the address they give but it said it was an invalid email address. I guess ill have to go to the pool store and spend more. At least the last one from the pool store lasted three years!
Stopped working after 2 months - Silicone tore open Replaced the original diaphragm valve with this one and it only lasted 2 months. The original valve worked fine for 3+ years (under daily and sometimes heavy use) when it finally began losing its elasticity. This new valve stopped working because the silicone tore apart; even though there were only a couple of leaves at the bottom of the pool (see pics). Save your money. Working like it's supposed to for less than 1/3 the price at the pool store!5/21/17. Well, it was when I wrote this, but it has turned out to be total garbage after a month! Runs for about two minutes and then just stops in one place and vibrates. Adjusted the flow balance without success. Nothing stuck in it. Took my unit to Leslie's, where they took it apart and reinstalled the diaphragm. Per Leslie's instructions, tried moving the hose weight. Still nothing. Premature failure here as well We ordered this in late August of last year and it has already failed. Very frustrating. I rarely do reviews, but in this case I felt I had to warn folks that the negative ones you are reading are true. Beware unless they can get these issues fixed. I'm currently weighing the idea of getting a whole new cleaner rather than throwing parts at this one.
Don't buy lasted 67 weeks Bought it Feb 7th it is ripped right by the yellow. Nothing found in the filter bag I have attached looks like it is just defective. I getting sick of the Zodiac products not lasting. I guess I'll have to save up and find another brand product who's components last more than 2 month.Update 3/29/2017 Customer service contacted me and are sending out a new one.
I am totally disgusted with this product Bought three of these after one I bought at pools store for $50 ripped after only a couple weeks. I have now installed the last one, the other two ripped in the same spot in less than 3 months. I am totally disgusted with this product, but am stuck since it is a vital part. This was defective. Within one month, the diaphragm ... This was defective. Within one month, the diaphragm split.I will say however, Zodiac customer support was excellent. I reached out to them directly and they are sending a replacement free of charge. I will wait to see how long the replacement lasts to update this review.
