An Excellent Repair! If you need a new "engine", this one is perfect. My old one was damaged from debris and overall aging from many years of service. It was tricky getting the old one out (takes quite a bit of force), new one popped right in. The "pool guy" is once again cruising and cleaning for me.
Brought my cleaner back to life The original diaphragm developed a large tear that made it completely useless. It was a little difficult figuring out how to remove the old one without damaging any parts that most likely cost $45 each, so I took my time and looked at the diagrams on the user's manual (which is available as a .pdf file on the manufacturer's website).My pool sides are clean again, and I'm quite happy about it. Replacement Part I received a factory packaged diaphragm that was easy to install ( after referring to the instructions that came with the cleaner, but not the part). The instructions are also available from the manufacturer, Zodiac on their website.
Good product. Order came and works fine; although your picture here is of two (2) only one (1) was enclosed.Could be intrepered as deceiving.
A cheap was to improve performance I'm sure it works? Not the problem with my sweeper trying to fix. So can not say for sure it works but based on passed replacements a new diaphragm from Zodiac always works better than 2/3 year one. 2nd Zodiac sweeper in 8 years.
Not long lasting Purchased one when my original broke. That one lasted about two months before it tore. Purchased a second one thinking it was just a fluke. Fast forward two more months and once again it is broken.
No other options...low quality I use two or three of these a year. They always break in the same spot. Poor design or material? I don't know. No other option than to buy zodiac brand and the price for the part has doubled since I bought my sweeper. It is a shame since the rest of the sweeper is durable and the only part I have replaced is the foot (every three years or so). Would love to see an aftermarket company step up and make one or zodiac re-engineer for durability.
Poor quality I do pool maintenance for a living, and I have had to replace this part 4 times in the last year. The rubber does not hold up for long and eventually tears in the middle, rendering your sweep useless. The pool has a variable speed pump which I only run at 2000 rpm at its highest due to trying to keep this rubber piece from splitting, but it always does eventually—usually within a few weeks. keeps my Baracuda humping Have had the new Quattro X7 for a couple of years and this is the first replacement I've needed for the humper..When I replaced it the install was tricky figuring out the "KEY" to taking the Quattro apart.. While I had it apart I put totally new pads on the bottom and unfortunately now all it does is go around in circles, in the deep end of the pool...There is NO adjustment in any way to make it do what it used to do the entire pool.. Anyone with ideas I'm open to hear them..
