Works ok scanning to USB stick or network drive I am using this scanner with Ubuntu. I can see the scanner via wifi but I can't scan directly from Ubuntu. In any case it is generally easier to scan to a USB stick then copy the files over later. I am very happy with this scanner and it has helped me get rid of a great deal of clutter. Awesome value Great scanner for the money it cost us. Runs fast and you can put lots of pages in to scan at once.
Works as advertised Compared to my HP 5590 this unit is fantastic! Small footprint, easy install, very fast, duplex scanning a charm. The only reason it didn't get the fifth star is the unit does not easily feed different size paper and receipts.
Easy setup and use Nearly Plug n' Play. I had this running five minutes after I unpacked it and was already scanning document in duplex. Quality looks good and the interface is quite easy. I've had other brothers, but I wish I had held out for this one, so now I've got one I can take to the office.
Scans fast and easy. Software is so so, but wireless is awesome. Like the other compact scanners it competes with, this Brother scanner is fast and pretty easy. The software is somewhat clunky and it is not as easy in that regard as the Fujitsu scanners. However, the big advantage here is wireless. I Like It My friends call me the scanner whisperer. No actually they call me the scanner collector. Ok they don't call me any of that but I have and have had a butt load of high speed scanners. The gold standard in scanners are the Fujitsu's. I have one that I use most often, and have had the little portable units. The best! I love this scanner. Over the years I've always bought flatbed scanners, beginning in the '90s, when the cheapest scanner was over $100. Now you can get a decent scanner for $40 to $50. Now, about this one. First, I was amazed at the speed of the OCR mode. For my job as an editor/book designer, I had to scan two 80-page books for new editions. Fast, small, and wireless -- the perfect little package This scanner's insanely fast! I'd say it's easily fast enough for most business users, but I think it's really meant for the traveling businessman. It's compact size is hard to fathom until you can physically touch it. It's roughly the size of those boxes you get business cards in. I had absolutely no problem connecting to it either and Brother already has a Mac 10.9 Mavericks driver out for it if you have a Macbook. Absolutely great scanner, you won't be disappointed!
