Brother ADS1000W desktop scanner is great this is a lightweight nice looking scanner. it works very well and it is surprisingly fast for its size - which is nice

The top flips up with one hand and in seconds it's ready to scan your documents of nearly any size -- quickly! Thorough Review: Speed, features, wireless, and size. Scans super fast, ADF(automatic document feeder) works great, paper should be straight without crumbled edges to ensure good feed scans. Stand-alone product can scan directly to USB drive(not provided) or a running computer. This model does not scan to email or ftp as a stand-alone...to scan to email or ftp you'll need to use the provided software on your computer to do so. Piece of Garbage! This feeder is a piece of garbage. Literally designed by an idiot. Will not feed paper straight or paper that is even a fraction over the assigned length. Just stops when the defined length is met and thinks it is jammed. Who designs this crap???

Junk The second flap does not “click” back to stay in place. The pages pull through crooked even when lined up correctly. It uses the Brother printing/scanning desktop app as opposed to TWAIN and it is NOT user friendly. I waited a long time for this to come in just to find that it is poor quality and not a simple system to navigate. I wish I could return it.
Not compatible with latest version of Mac operating system. Brother took forever to offer updated drivers for Mac Monterey 12.0, and completely left out updating for this model. So my $380 scanner became completely useless when I updated my computer. I spent 20 minutes on hold with Brother's customer service to be told that there is no plan to develop a driver for this model and pointed to their sales page to buy a new scanner - without any consideration for the awful experience I've had with this one. SCANNER PAPER FEED JAMS ABOUT 20 % OF THE TIME THIS IS THE WORST SCANNER I HAVE EVER USED. Not worth the time to explain any further. Just don't buy it.
Okay for documents but damages photos. I’ve had an okay experience with document scanning but it has been horrible on photos. IT WILL SCRATCH any photo that’s scanned through it.
