NOT USER FRIENDLY Boy, I had a scansnap before this and I would recommend spending the extra $ and getting the ScanSnap. This was so complicated to set up. They could take a lesson from IKEA on writing set up manuals. Make it easy for us please, Brother!
Always feeds doubles, triples, or even more I have had it with this scanner. From the get-go it has had issues feeding pages. If I have just 1 page to scan, the scanner does not feed, it thinks that nothing has been loaded. If I have 12 pages to scan, the first feed will pull 3 pages, then a few into it, another double is pulled, etc... over and over day after day. I am getting a new scanner and going to go Office Space on this one.
Doesn't come with cord link to computer This really doesn't work wirelessly, so you need a special cord to link to your computer which it DOES NOT come with. The instructions that come with it are outdated, which you realize when you go online to read the correct instructions. I called Amazon so I could connect to Brother's tech support because there is no direct number. The tech told me about the cord and gave me the wrong information for the type of cord. Useless As others have noted, this product is impossible to set up. After 2 hours of trying to connect to my network, I gave up and tried to connect directly using a USB cable. Still not able to scan. I bought this after a ScanSnap 1300 failed after a couple of years thinking I might have better luck but if you're not even able to set it up, I recommend going with the ScanSnap. I'm boxing it up and it's going back.
No cables No Software Poor Manual I am returning this device after spending too much time trying to enable the wireless network configuration. I download all the drives, supplied my own cable to directly connect, and followed the confusing manual. I tried finding youtube videos but I was never able to "see" the network and connect. Not reliable - do not buy Installation is very complicated as the scanner has a hard time to connect via WiFi. At one point, I got a connection and the scanner worked OK. Then it decided to go "offline" and it was impossible to convince it to re-connect. I tried to get technical help from Brother but gave up after more than 45 minutes on hold.
