They have all levels of care independent, assisted, memory, rehab, short term, and long term care. The memory care rooms are nice and large, they fit any size bed and still have room for a couch or other seating. They don't feel like a down grade from the assisted living rooms. They will work with you to determine the level of care that is needed. Some disorganized service from staff with long wait times. Good part is because it's one of the few around the Indianapolis area with both Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living under one roof that allows pets.
The grounds are large, wooded, with a lake and very peaceful. It is in a neighborhood and feels more homey to us than a sterile larger suburban setting. It is also very close to where I and her other relatives live so we can visit very often. The staff is friendly and caring. The facility is older but updated and clean. For our purposes and tastes I do not think we could find anything we liked better.
The food is average, however if you don't like what is on the menu you can always have a substitute such as a sandwich or salad and they have a great chef's salad. Value for the money, they are very competitive and I have never regretted my move. There is a great exercise facility which is manned by a professional trainer and open five days a week. I find the facility homey,cozy welcoming and clean.The staff is friendly pleasant and very helpful. They all the staff makes you feel you really belong and go out of there way out you at ease
We chose American Village because of the cleanliness of the facility, the brightness, inviting dining room, and services offered. They are all very attentive and helpful to the residents.
We are very happy with all categories! They get a 5. The staff is very accommodating and check on residents if anything is out of the ordinary. Food is wonderful and we love the outdoor areas. Large apartments, only wish the cleaning was more often for my mothers needs
Love the staff, they are fantastic. Love the location of the community. The food is only okay and could be better. The cost is high when you consider the mediocrity of the food, and the frequency at which repairs are needed (outdated apt units, appliances and AC/heat systems).
I gave quality of care a 3 because they have moved her a lot in the long-term memory care unit, and they've lost quite a few of her things. Regarding number 6, my grandmother has dementia and doesn't remember any activities she participated in, but there are activities listed on the calendar
