Get directionsWell, from the moment we walked in, it felt off. There were problems with the elevator, they were painting all the rooms we wanted to see or doing major construction. It just didn't feel as welcome as [facility name removed]. And, it was way more expensive. The grounds were beautiful at Rosewood but, I just didn't like it as much as [facility name removed] It also had a weird smell to it!
It was not good fit for me. The initial impression I had from my visit, and the meal I had, with the beautiful free apple pie I was given, was not based on the truth and my experience changed my impression after I moved there. I moved there in July and moved out by the end of November.
Very supportive and attentive staff. Nice apartments. Food could improve and it would have been nice to have been able to get my mom a gift certificate for the hair and nail place. They only take cash and I couldn't prepay for it.
My son chose this facility for our loved one. I'm not sure I would've picked it. The price was the cheapest. They offer activities, [name removed] is wonderful! They offer light housekeeping. I would tell someone to look around especially meal times. We do have a new chef, so far he's bringing up the rating. They are also in the process of doing so many upgrades.
There are some positives.....but there are negatives to go along.....At first the place was really good. But now that the new company took over or merged, there are some areas that are slacking. Now to give some credit, the lack of people working there has gone down so not being able to hire more staff might have something to do with it. Now the biggest applause I give them is the activities are wonderful. The director in charge of this program is wonderful and it shows that she loves her job.
There has been some recent turnover in management staff that has caused some challenges, but I am sure they will overcome it. Same goes for the kitchen staff.
I would say to look carefully at this community and see if it fits you or not.
It is has a very open concept community with a large dining area. It has an off set seating area where families can come to visit, the staff are always very accommodating and its just a very nice community.
Most of the staff are nice but some are not. The biggest problem is the care services - they don't offer what they said they had. I had the hire a personal aid for assistance I needed in morning and night. They had a Baptist ministry [name removed] who had raved over meals and had a bible study, but it was on second floor and elevator was hard to operate without the help. The other residents are nice. Yes, need improvements and honesty with services offered and accessibility of room's in apt. Cost is good for apt but should ... read more
