If there was an option to rate the oral surgeon, Doctor Guthrie, negative stars I would. I am 19 years old and had my wisdom teeth removed by him. He was not very friendly or professional. I was very nervous going into the procedure & he did not offer much comfort when he exclaimed: "well, there's not much room to work in here," after he looked in my mouth. Not happy, From my first visit where I felt railroaded in to putting money down on services not yet completed. The visits were long waiting time. They did all my fillings and crown preps in one day which left my jaws aching. While in the chair the dentist may repeated remarks in regards to his inexperience and how he is getting better at certain procedure, left me wondering if I had a student dentist. They also told me I needed a bunch of treatments that would cost significant out of pocket - even after I took extreme care to make sure they were in network for my insurance. After 3 phone calls to confirm they were in network, at the apt, they claimed I was not covered and didn't have dental coverage. After finding my insurance, they proceeded with full mouth Xrays - and I told them they would NOT be covered since it was within the 2 years of last xrays. They did them anyway. BEWARE! After recently moving to the area, I tried out this dentist. The first red flag was that they made me wait for my appointment while they called my insurance to ask what types of treatments were covered! I hadn't even been seen yet! During my exam I was promptly told I had gingivitis, cavities and needed several crowns, and they wanted to start on treatment right away.
