I have worked in Dental Insurance for 8 years now. I know the ins and outs and the do’s and donts. I have always used Aspen for my dental care as I have always found them to be convenient and good about working with me. Now Most people postpone the dentist because its like walking on to a car lot with a dime in their pocket and driving off with the hottest car but a loan beyond their means and a new huge debt. I absolutely do not recommend Aspen Dental in New Hartford to anyone!! By far the worst experience I have ever had. Went there for a consultation to get my wisdom teeth out, payed the $60 fee before even seeing a doctor and they kept trying to say that I didn’t and they wanted more money from me. Very persistent that I did everything they said. My regular dentist referred me for all 4 wisdom teeth to be extracted because how bad they were. one of the drs at Aspen said “I am not touching your nasty bad top teeth you can go so... read more

I had a dental emergency and couldn’t get in to my regular dentist for a couple weeks. So when I called aspen I was shocked they could get me in that very day. However I had an appt at 2 and didn’t end up leaving the office till 330! I was called back fairly quickly but waited in the dental chair forever. Being just about 9 months pregnant I was uncomfortable and no one came in and let me know how long the wait would be to see the dentist. Called for appt on 2/8. Appt for 2/13 specific for a toothache #9. Get there, xrays taken, "inspection" to make a treatment plan. I asked when they would address my toothache..."Oh, you have to make an appointment...." I did make an appointment! Then I have to agree and sign a treatment plan. Finally get an appt for the toothache...2/20. So I'll be waiting 3 weeks to get relief. Aspen is nothing more than a factory. No concern for patient care. My experience with the hygienist at the New Hartford office has been good. I just met the dentist last week, when I had a lot of pain in one tooth. She said I needed a root canal, but they were in between providers so wanted me to wait two weeks to be seen. Offered a prescription for pain meds, but no referral. I found an endodontist who was able to treat me, so now the pain is gone but I need the tooth pulled. Made an appointment at Aspen with their oral surgeon, Dr. Xue. Broke a tooth and called them. I qualified for free exam and xrays so I went. After the Dentist saw me, they then had me talk to an expert about what should be done. Told me $6,000 to fix everything. I told them no way. They suggested that they have financing..... Went home and called my Dentist and he filled the tooth and also had my teeth cleaned. Both filling and cleaning was $350. Aspen is a rip off.

What a bunch of lying scheming pieces of you know what! They give me a treatment plan of one tooth which isn't too bad so I agree to it and prepay... when it's all said and done they do a different tooth and I have to pay more, the same amount I had already paid... what a scam! And I have the receipt of both to show the difference
