multiple reschedules followed by incompetent billing. Every time I am forced to go here due to insurance it is a nightmare. Save yourself the trouble and just go somewhere else.
I felt overwhelmed and coerced into what I did not want. I only wanted a routine cleaning. But I reluctantly agreed to all the X-rays, because they were offered free to ones with no insurance, which includes myself. Then an exam declared I could not have just a cleaning because I had early onset periodontal. I cannot afford this. Its been 7 years since I've had a dental visit. I wanted a simple cleaning. Is not mine however is from a former dentist there! Place is a scam I am a dentist, and worked for Aspen Dental for over 7 years. I’m no longer associated with them. Aspen Dental is the worse thing to happen to the field of dentistry. I refused to run my office how they were constantly pressuring me to do. I “owned” two locations, one in Ky and one in Tn. I scheduled a new patient appointment at the Topsham, ME location and l I was extremely disappointed by the overall experience. First off, a little back story on my dental health- I have a gum disorder called Amelogenesis Imperfecta and I have crowns on all my teeth. Went to aspen dental to relieve the pain I was in, man did I make a bad decision. Not only was I overcharged but something that should take two visits took 4. Then when I wanted my refund the refused to refund onto my card. They sent me a check in the mail, when I went to cash the check at Key Bank who they bank thru, they couldn't cash, due to the check numbers not matching. I was happy with the plans and progress on the upper dentures but completely dissatisfied with the discussion on the lowers. You explained but did not listen. You are also far more expensive than I was lead to believe. I wish My dentures would not have been lost in the accident!
I went in just to get my routine cleaning and they told me it needed to be a two part cleaning, which I have never had to have before so I was suspicious. They gave me an itemized receipt of how much to expect to pay for the cleaning and it was almost $200! I told them I wanted the basic cleaning and they insisted that I get the two part. I paid for the first part and was told the second part is covered 100% by my insurance. The doctor admitted to me that she "made a mistake" and didn't check my file before sending a medication to my pharmacy that is extremely dangerous to mix with one I'm already on. Also, they over billed me for my appointment and then tried to convince me to use the leftover money for a future appointment. Yeah right. Never again and I wouldn't recommend this dump to anyone.
