Everything started out well. Our first courses were fantastic. Entrees we’re served cold, the time between entree and dessert was 15-20 mins, way too long. Our water & drink glasses went unfilled. We had to ask for coffee twice. I’ve been a fan of all the Barlolotta for years. I honestly cannot imagine going back. The service was not worth the price.
Somewhat disappointed in the meal. The pre fixe menu contains a number of up charges and the portions are small. The excruciatingly thinly sliced bread (basket ) is a reminder that Bacchus, like other restaurants, is stretching things as thinly as possible to be profitable.

Pretty mediocre for what we paid. First, we ordered an expensive wine. We were served and ate our appetizers before the wine was opened, and that was only after I asked the server where it was (and she seemed surprised). Second, the wagyu steak was not terrible tender and was chewy (and the side very blah and not well plated). The server passed us our plates over the heads of our guests and we had to reach for them (it is as though she had no training how to serve in, what is supposed to be, a very nice restaurant). The dess... read more
This used to be my favorite place in Milwaukee. Since Covid it has gone downhill fast. It’s not the 5 star dining experience it once was and the food not as mouth watering as before. Pretty basic eating out experience and for the $$$ it becomes less and less worth it.
Attended Easter Sunday brunch, with a 3 course meal-each course had 4 items to choose from. Good variety in each course. Dessert selections were definitely the highlight. Service, as always, was excellent. Quality of food was not up to the usual perfection- shrimp cocktail appetizer had 5 very small and mealy looking shrimp, although their flavor and texture was adequate. Flank steak sweet potato hash was way overdone with some pieces completely blackened and too tough to chew. I don’t mind paying their prices, but then I do... read more

I’ve always come back to Bacchus for the food and excellent service. But, for the first time our service was horrible. It took them an hour to find the bottle of wine we ordered, the servers forgot our order on multiple occasions and charged the wrong amount on our credit card ( which took us another half hour to find or server and have her fix it ). You don’t go to Bacchus for service like this. In spite of having two people serve us nothing went in a timely fashion and right. It was a very disappointing evening especially ... read more
Lights need to be dimmer for sure. Way too bright for a weekend night. Makes it feel odd inside because it’s so bright. Very strange choice of music. Food was delicious. Service fine but needs improvement got better as the night went on.
We have always loved Bacchus and have saved going there for special occasions. We haven’t been there for about six months. The ambiance has changed. Music was loud, pop music and all the candles are gone with lights turned up giving it a bright look. It felt as though we we were in an urban hotel restaurant with impersonal feel. The food was good but again not the special gourmet experience that we had looked forward to.
Stellar service and ambiance. I liked the options on the menu, and the presentation was good. My complaint is that I ordered the night's special, and it wasn't prepared especially well. I ordered the New York stip (a good-sized portion at 12 oz) and asked for it to be medium rare. It came out cooked medium well. It took effort to cut the meat, and had it not been for the red wine steak sauce (which was delicious), the meat would have been too dry. As it was, I had to use all the sauce to make up for the overcooked meat. Give... read more
