Portions were small compared to other Bartolotta restaurants, waiter pushed sweet wine tastings after we specifically said no sweet moscato or port wine. Chefs tasting menu was a “secret” but we wish we would have just ordered off of the regular menu. Not worth $400. It was worth half of that. Atmosphere was nice but nothing extraordinary. Wine list was nice, as expected. Drafty, there wasn’t a cozy spot in the restaurant.

Food quality was a bit less than usual. Tuna was a bit fishy. Waiter never once came back to ask how anything was. Had to pour our own wine after the 1st glass. They ran out of NYE party favors just before they got to us. A bit disappointing since we took friends there for the 1st time. Not sure our friends will be back but we might.

I have had Bacchus on my list for a long time, and was eager to try after attending the Ballet earlier. We ended up arriving at the really cool location and very nice interior design. We were sat next to a large table that was noisy and very rude (guys high fiving for the lady talent in the room). When we sat down we started with a 1/2 bottle of wine and perused though the menu and decided to go with a local cheese and crackers and a couple of appetizers. The Octopus was fantastic, but the tuna tartare was very bland. One th... read more

Usually amazing but not this time. Service was terrible and drinks were weak. Food was delicious.

Pricey, with small portions at that. The food was very good, but not worthy of the cost. They had some white truffles the night we were there but the prices of those were really atmospheric. As it was, dinner for two was over $200 and we didnt go crazy on wine etc. Definitely a special occasion location only, unless you manage a hedge fund or are independently wealthy. The place was only half full on Friday night, which is telling.

Waiter was not attentive at all. Order a bottle of wine never ever came back to refill our glasses. Order a porter house steak waiter did not even ask how was the steak prepared or how was the first bite.. It was two tables in the area around 6:45pm thats it. He catered to a table of five who were above noisy for such a quiet ambiance setting. Our bill for two individuals came out to $172.00 and it appears that is not enough value to get the waiter to show you appreciation.

We were in Milwaukee for Mothers Day weekend and I wanted to take my wife to a special place and we have always had wonderful meals at Bartolotta Restaurants. The server we had was very friendly and knowledgeable. But we waited awhile before water etc came, and it took quite awhile for our meal to come. My wife ordered the lamb which she said was wonderful. I ordered the filet and it came to the table warm, not what I would expect and told the server who said "I will tell them". I was not looking for a free meal, but no one ... read more

Very disappointing. It took over 25 mins before someone acknowledge us. The waitress stood at the table next to us talking to them most of the time. Hardly acknowledged us. After dinner we went to a different restaurant for dessert and a glass wine.
