The grounds are beautiful, the view is amazing and some of the staff are supportive and knowledgable about the recovery process. However, I chose this facility for my daughter because they advertise "During our thorough admissions process, our helpful and highly trained staff assesses for the presence of any existing mental health disorders" They did not do this, even after I specifically requested it. When I asked the director about this she said that they are screened during the admission process, but that clients are o... read more
This rehab claims to be able to treat co-occurring disorders. This simply isn't true, they refuse to admit clients with co-occurring disorders without poly medicating and forcing dangerous medications to be consumed during your recover process at Bayside Marin, medications that are consider to be a chemical lobotomies. The medical team is grossly negligent of most mental health disorders, they aren't capable of treating mental health issues and drug disorders without turning their patients into a zombified robots. 10 years ago they were GREAT! Today, they have grown too much and are no longer focused on the patient! As a spouse of a person who has been in three facilities, I would no longer recommend this facility.
Make sure you do your research throughly and ask the questions you want answered. The houses are very nice, good ac, nice accommodations. Pool that over looks the water. Food is decent but the main issue here is the communication with the management especially the director. There were fleas in the bed, that took days to be dealt with, visitors are not allowed due to "covid", but the staff apparently are allowed to bring their children on site. They offer weekly family zoom calls, that started almost towards the end of treat... read more
Oh, there were many things wrong with this place. Will not send my medical records. Hipaa and California law violations everywhere. Only commenting to rate and warn others NOT to go there. Badly run, and in my opinion, completely unethical / doesn't care about patients / cannot handle your meds. RUN. Official complaint certainly won't be on Yelp or other review sites. Best of luck to anyone who has the misfortune of finding themselves here. Review might change if they bother to make it right.
This place has potential but lacks nursing and responsibility of taking care of client's who struggle with disabilities. They are only in it for the money seems like. Spent my time taking care of a vet who needed a higher level of care and so I was that person instead of taking care of myself and my recovery. This place is not ADA compliant and should be inspected. My roommate had diarrhea issues and therapist didn't want to get the bathroom cleaned. You needed a hazmat to walk in that bathroom. Therapists new that this gu... read more
I Just post the review on their website but it wouldn't show. Interesting My son went to bayside few days ago. And he had the worse withdrawals ever. He would call me several times a day, I was wondering is any nurses out there or anyone?? You guys said every 30 minutes the nurse checking. No! He was crying for 40-60 minutes 3-3 times a day feeling sick! Then he left! Just left?! After this place he never the same! The people would never share what medication he was taking, nothing because he is 22. Well something went ... read more

We are grateful that you shared this with us, though we are deeply troubled by the circumstances described. Safety and clinically excellent care are of the utmost importance at Bayside Marin. If you are willing to share more details with us, please reach out to Pamela.Alba@acadiahealthcare.com so that we can gather more information.
A "shut up and obey" approach to patient care with a terribly demoralized staff who are constantly fearing being fired. Ruling from fear only works for a little while until the CEO or an oversight committee figures out what's going on. Disastrous leadership from the main therapist "Dr Arno" who is deeply toxic. It's clear she has poisoned the entire organization with a 1950s east coast style of management that died a long time ago. If someone voices a concern about a very legitimate issue, they are quickly asked to leave t... read more
Don't send your loved ones here unless you're ok with an institution that sets strict arbitrary and inconsistent rules, kicks people out (even in violation with their own policies), and sticks you with a bill for $5k+ for a few days of treatment. Bayside Marin does some things right (nice facilities, most of the staff is knowledgeable) but really important things really wrong (really lacking for dual diagnosis or DBT, a "my way or the highway" attitude with the leadership, an unwillingness to be transparent about cost breakd... read more
Business response:
Tadena, My heart goes out to you. I only know too well how painful it can be when a loved one is struggling with a substance use disorder. Here at Bayside, we do our best to create a patient-first atmosphere, and I apologize if your loved one's experience was not a positive one. I invite you to reach out to me and share your issues regarding their discharge. I know I might not be able to resolve the situation, but I genuinely care and want to address your concerns. ~ Matt Silva, PsyDc, LPC - CEO of Bayside Marin
