This has been one of the worst dining experience I have had in my life. Upon being seated the table was dirty and no one was around to clean it, so I went to the wait station and got a clean bar towel an spray bottle of soapy water and cleanèd the table. It was food to fuel us from a crazy day filled with garage sale hunting, farmer market shopping and playing at the park. It was en route, I had a gift card and my 5 kids were starving. I threw them in the truck 5 hours earlier without breakfast and only their snack bag and water bottles to tide them until now. Minus: Up charge for eggs! Ordered the Sunday weekend breakfast bar; and we could NOT order eggs from the kitchen without paying $1 per egg....stayed thirty, because I didn't see my server for over 20 minutes...I had to go to the front checkout to ask for a drink refill but then whenI asked for a drink was mistaken for a lady who placed a carry out order (i I think it bc we were both women of color - yet we did NOT look or dress alike...hmm?) Plus: bathrooms were clean.
We decided to have dinner here tonight to have their usually good slim Jim and fish sandwich. Granted we hadn't been here in a while but assumed they would be as good as always. We were wrong. Apparently they changed the roll from the traditional somewhat crunchy,what I thought used to be called a grilled Grecian roll,to a soft roll. Made In Detroit! A Michigan tradition! This particular location is without a doubt the cleanest and friendliest Big Boy that I've been to. My Mom and I stopped in after a long night of shopping at Lakeside Mall. After driving down Hall Road not knowing where we wanted to dine out, we decided on Big Boy. Boy was I'm glad we decided here! Took the family for breakfast and was a little disappointed. All 4 of us went with the buffet (kids 5 and under are free). All the "hot food" was cold and the "cold food" (fruit/yogurt/milk) was warm. We usually enjoy the buffet, but not this visit. For 2 adults and 2 free children it cost $38. I wish they could do something about the flies, pretty gross. I think a fan would help under the buffet with the flies. 2 stars because kids eat free.
arrived for lunch shortly after 11. there was a party of 2 in front of me waiting to be seated. After a couple of minutes, a waitress shouted over "someone will be right with you". I want to start out and say the service was great ! I have eaten at big boy restaurants before and I expected a simular experience from this location, however I feel I got cheated here. The food was expensive and not very good. I ordered the " best cheese burger on the planet " Not a chance in hell that was even close to that ! onion rings and a coke. Never again will I do a seafood bar at BigBoys again. Over cooked shrimp undercooked cod cold n dried pasta sides. Wasted $$ I had to send my cream of broccoli soup back due to being ice cold. Salad portion of the bar was not filled . Not even worth $14.95 should of just has the classic burger and Fries's. I reported the undercooked fish and I was still finding pieces .
