I found both the assessment by Bluebird and the two occasions I enjoyed 'respite' very relaxing, pleasant, reassuring experiences. At the assessment my husband and I felt at ease, we could talk freely about the circumstances which make this sort of care necessary. There was no time pressure. Overall the carers have been very kind, caring and supportive, they have ensured that medication has been administered as prescribed and prepared meals etc. They have been respectful of privacy and encouraged Mum to get up, and wash and mobilise as much as possible. Bluebird Care - both in terms of the actual carers and the back office/admin/support- are truly amazing. I have very rarely come across any organisation with such high standards, customer service and total professionalism. We have been extremely happy with the overall care provided by this agency. The customer service manager has been truly outstanding in interfacing between our mother and us. She consistently shows genuine care and concern in a timely manner and has been responsive to any needs brought to her attention.
All the regular carers are excellent sometimes the substitute carers are not. (Not using their common sense for example).
A well run and caring service provider with few criticisms to make. The care itself is good but there is sometimes a problem in finding people who are able to 'cook' as well as 'care' and the client is unable to cook for himself. The senior carer is excellent and the office staff/management beyond criticism.
Our experience has been good with only one instance due solely to language misunderstanding and carer not used to google translation. Management was very supportive and very, very helpful. All other carers who have come to offer respite have been good and very pleasant.
My mother is in her 90's and suffers from dementia. Bluebird Care has been helping our family look after Mum for over two years. The continuity of care, with them providing the same carer, assists Mum greatly rather than having different people, adding to Mum's confusion. They are really good at being flexible and able to step in at short notice when her family are not able to visit. The carers are all known to the family now and are really good at looking after Mum.
The carers looking after my husband have been kind, caring and respectful of him. I would recommend Bluebird's service to others.
