We love this place despite the crowds, the noise; it's a happening and the huge portions are delicious. It's name is mis-leading. This is not your grandma's diner.
My husband and I had matinee tickets to "Anything Goes" at the Stephen Sondheim Theater, so it was an easy choice to make lunch reservations at The Brooklyn Diner. The menu has something for everyone. My dietary choices have changed since I first ate at the Brooklyn. I now eat only plant-based foods, and there is a satisfying option for me. The wait staff is always excellent. Just know that seating is often snug, and the noise level reflects many chatty patrons.
The food is very good, usually easy to get a reservation and close to theater. We love it.
Selected this restaurant due to it's proximity to the theater. Meal was enjoyable - two of us had the salmon burger and one the burger. We all loved the home made potato salad. Ashely provided great service and was very accommodating. Appreciated that the restuarant granted our request for a booth. As we were traveling with a senior, it made our ability to carry on a conversation very easy. I know it's NY but prices were high for a diner...$17.95 for a burger?? I should have been clued into the linens on the table.
How delightful. It was our third visit...and we will always consider The Brooklyn Diner now as we plan our Broadway outings.
French Fries came cold and they happily and quickly replaced with hot ones. Friendly service, oversized portions.
the food was great. the waiter was excellent.
We often go to Brooklyn Diner before or after the theater. Tonight was special -- the maitre d and the waiter were so very tuned into our needs -- one of us is disabled with a walker and difficulty walking and seeing. They cared for us as if we were at a high-end, expensive, intimate restaurant and made our visit very special. Oh, the food was good too!
Love their Salmon Benedict. Food is top quality. Service very professional.
