A real find of an American Diner just on Times Square, great food, burgers special, fun and great service.
The Brooklyn Diner is great because its such a civil place to eat in a place as crazy as Times Square. What I like is that the ambiance is quiet and private so you can have a conversation and eat good food, without the hub-bub of Times Square being an issue. The menu is diverse and enjoyable, and I can recommend the Brooklyn Diner as a great place to eat!
Enjoyed my lunch. Service was excellent.
Everything was delicious, although the mac and cheese portion was a little small. Waiters were friendly and helpful with choices. It was so quiet inside we couldn't believe Times Square was out the door!
Had pre-matinee lunch on a Saturday. The service was excellent. We ordered large salads to share. The raspberry vinagrette dressing was almost all oil with no flavor. Our server brought over blue cheese dressing as requested, which was much better. The hummus was delicious. Great location right off Times Square. However, I think the TS location was the reason this place was pricier than comparable restaurants over on 8th or 9th Avenues.
It's near times square making it crowded for lunch, but it does bring a unique atmosphere.
Brooklyn Diner is located steps off of Times Square and is convenient to many Times Square area hotels. We went to breakfast on a Sunday morning when restaurant choices are limited. It is an attractive small restaurant that is nothing like a NY diner. At least at breakfast, it has a small but satisfying list of breakfast choices, including specialty waffles. Service was friendly,if slow, and the food was good, if not great. This was a good Sunday breakfast choice for the area.
I went with my 5-year old nephew after seeing Spiderman. The staff acts as if they've always known you and the food was very tasty for a "diner."
I lived in NYC for almost a decade and can't believe I never tried this place. It took until I was a visiting tourist from Jacksonville to discover this gem and learn that Brooklyn Diner (1) ties Beechers in Seattle for World's Best Mac & Cheese (and I've tried Mac & Cheese all over the world, including Japan and Scotland); (2) makes a wicked noodle kuegel; and (3) is right off Times Square--home to the Worst of the Worst in mass-produced food. I will definitely return when I'm in Manhattan as I'm already dreaming of the Mac... read more
