our waitress was harried and the people next to us didn't get part of their meal. The prices should have been on the on line menu, no one is prepared to spend $20.00 for a reuben-and the most egregious thing was that they ran our of corned beef and turkey, so no Reubens! we had to substitute pastrami. The waitress said this is regular for sunday, they always run out, every week. We were there for an 11:30 reseervation-if this happens all the time, how could they possibly have such bad food purchasing? We chose the Brooklyn D... read more
was disappointed with both the food & Service. Will not be returning
The food was incredibly over-priced and barely adequate. The Brooklyn Diner is the definitive "tourist trap." I would not recommend it.
Choose this spot for 6 year old Sunday brunch. Before a 3pm theater show, based on menu online. Upon arriving @noon, we discovered that they stop serving brunch @ 11:30am. Does not say that online menu. Disappointed child. I, a vegan, then asked about the vegan burger I saw in lunch menu online, to be told its only M-F. Disappointed, again. Ordered a pizza, which came ice cold. Kid wanted breakfast, so only option was waffke sundae on dessert menu. We all made best of situation as to not spoil occasion. Never an apology. Turkey sandwiches were too thickly cut and dry. Corned beef was also too thickly cut. Both meats should have been thinly sliced. $20 hot dog was watery and tasteless. Sauerkraut was mushy and onion rings were cold. Will not return. I am not a tourist. I am a native New Yorker.
Much too expensive. Would not go back.
Not your typical "diner" which wasn't necessarily a bad thing but we thought it was very expensive even for NYC. No kids menu.
we popped in after a day of shopping and we were ALL disappointed. Overpriced, food was VERY fair/average and service was slow. We sat for a good 5 minutes before being waited on and acknowledged and we walked in at 5pm on a Friday. There were only a few tables taken! Skip it. So many other better choices in Midtown. I am a foodie. I would have rather ate at Panera. :(
RESERVATION HONOREDIMMEDIATELY AND OUT ON TIME FOR THE THEATER. DEFINATELY WOULD GO BACK.
