Extremely overpriced for the barely better than diner food. I grew up in Brooklyn and this diner bares little to no resemblance to a real Brooklyn Diner. I realize it is geared to tourists, and priced accordingly, but as a New Yorker and a Brooklynite, I felt like I was mugged when I received the bill. No wonder they don't post their prices on the menus on their website or on the windows outside, no one would eat there. Dinner for 4, incl tax and tip, $175.00!!! And we only had 2 drinks and one dessert. Maybe it's worth if f... read more
Went here for brunch at 11:30 on a Saturday before a matinee and was told they had stopped serving breakfast at 11:15. Which left our group of 6 with a very over-priced lunch menu to choose from. Service was a bit schizo - at times it was friendly and attentive; other times we got the feeling that having to serve our table was a bit of an inconvenience for our waiter (and we had no special orders or requests). Having said that, the food was good - nothing special but certainly good - and it's a good pre-theater location so I... read more
The food was ok. The service was poor, I ordered a salad and he waited until I ate my whole salad before ordering the dinner, which I never asked him to hold off. Also, it took over 1/2 hour to than get a burger.
usually the food is very good, but this day I ordered their Chicken Soup and it was so salty that I could not eat it. I must say, they were very understanding, and did not charge me for it, after I complained to the waiter, so I will continue to go there, and just not order the soup again.
compaied to Lindys where is normaly go the menu us limited and $$$. The waiter brought our appiracitize and main coruse out at the same time. Problably will not return
Went with 5 other people, pre-theater. I had split pea soup and a pastrami reuben because the waiter really pushed the pastrami, saying it was particularly fine here. I found it fatty and chewy. The soup was very good, really did not need the sliced hot dog floating in it. Someone else had a very good caesar salad, and three people had the burger, whose only exceptional part was the frizzled onions on top. Otherwise, very average. Our youngest group member orders spaghetti and meatballs everywhere he goes and is something of... read more
We arrived for brunch at 11:00, and were seated shortly after. Once seated, however, it took an hour to get our food, and we had a 4 and 6 year old in our party. We almost left. When the food finally arrived, the eggs were stone cold, and the waffles were soft, tasteless and lukewarm at best. The children ordered red velvet waffles because there were no plain waffles available. I found this odd and also off-putting. How can a "diner" not have a variety of waffles and pancakes? Thankfully it did not take long to get the bill ... read more
This restaurant is AWFUL. Avoid it like the plague. Despite the fact that we had a reservation, it took them 10 minutes to seat us. Then it took them 10 minutes to take our drink order. Then it took an hour for the food to arrive. When the food did arrive, it was cold! Plus, the red velvet waffles that my children ordered were awful. No one liked them - neither the children nor the adults. We had asked when ordering if they had regular waffles, but this was unfortunately the only choice. The waiter was apologetic, but it har... read more
Terrible tourist trap. Way too expensive for the quality of food and a total lack of real atmosfere. Only positive was the friendly waiter, but that could not make up for the rest. This was my first and my last time!
