I’ve never had so many problems with a garage door company. My brand-new house in Alton has needed Broten to come out four times already. I’ve used this company several times for replacement doors so when my door malfunction and dented the lower panel I called them. Let’s start from the beginning I called and first thing the recording said that made go hum was they recorded all conversations and if they didn’t want to be recorded that you should disconnect the call… Not a problem I don’t care but that just sounds nasty people know if they don’t want to be recorded they can hang up. My experience with Broten was a series of phone calls not returned, appointments not kept, and general confusion and lack of concern for my order! I made my order with Home Depot and their customer service was deplorable. The only thing Broten did promptly was charge my credit card over $5,000! My car is being held captive by my damaged garage door and I cannot afford to wait any longer for Broten to meet their contractual obligation and actually get me the door I ordered. After my experience, I cannot recommend Broten.

They installed my door incorrectly, omitting the bearing where the tension bar passes through the middle bracket. This created a dangerous situation, the bar literally broke in half, which would have caused injury or death had I or anyone else been underneath it at the time.
