I only had to replace the cartridge once so far in the last 1.5 year and that was with the original cartridge which we all know usually comes about full when you buy a printer. The print quality is very consistent with no smearing. Replacing cartridges or I should say drums is not very difficult. However please note, you can find this cheaper than amazon.
