I had a great time yesterday shopping at Cavenders. I really didn't know what to expect with such a low average rating and so few reviews! Not to mention no recent reviews. What is up with that Dallas Yelpers?! There is serious construction going on around the area presently so my GPS send me on a wild ride but once I got to the store I knew I was in the right place. I'm normally not one to write reviews, but I just feel that 2.5 stars don't do this place any justice at all. I have no idea why this place has so few stars! The selection was great. If anything, the variety was a bit overwhelming. Fortunately, everything in the store is organized fairly well and it didn't take too long to find my way around. The customer service was great. Friendly staff, great selection, very helpful. A bit pricey, but they had what I wanted.
Great selection of not only men's and women's boots, but lots of Western wear too...picked up a nice pair of Durango boots the other day. Very attentive staff, but not too pushy, which is refreshing. Got some high-end boots too, but you can walk out with a really nice pair having spent between $100 - $150. Typically have a lot of pairs on sale, too.
Cavender's has devolved into a giant chain full of crap clothes made in China and India. What an absolute disappointment! You might be Texas founded, but you have entirely forgotten your roots.

The service I received during my visit today was extremely disappointing. I was not greeted upon entering the store, despite multiple customers being acknowledged after me. I was the only Black customer present at the time, which made the experience particularly uncomfortable and confusing--especially as this was my first visit while shopping for a gift for my boyfriend. Bought some Justin Boots in late December and they are falling apart. I took them in to the Cavenders in Farmers branch and they said that Justin wont do anything about them as they looked worn....duh...they are effing boots, of course they are worn. They basically said they would probably cost more to fix than purchasing a new pair. I then asked if they would give me a discount to purchase a new pair and they said no. I walked in today and was wanting to put an outfit together for my two family members and I had a friendly employee come and help me with the shirts which I appreciated at first. as I wandered off I remembered me and my friend were looking for tejanas, I politely asked another employee where the woman tejanas where at since she was already in the tejana area, she helped as well and asked "is there anyone helping you?"
