My husband suffers from vascular dementia and Alzheimer's. He has currently been in Cedar Mews Care Home for three months, having been in care elsewhere. On arrival, my husband was rather withdrawn, not keen on socialising, sometimes very angry and refusing personal care much of the time. Gradually, over time, he has changed dramatically. I never see him angry, he is happy to have personal care, he joins in with social activities, even trying things he has never done before. He is eating better. I regard it as miraculous but... read more

Staff are very kind, helpful and loving towards both my parents. Both have highly dependent needs which the staff take care of with dignity and respect. They ensure health and safety from falls and encourage eating and assist toileting. The activities organised for the residents are fantastic. The food is excellent, including soft diets. My father had a severe GI bleed and was cared for by the staff in a very appropriate manner.

Cedar Mews Care Home has been amazing right from when my mum went there. They helped settle her in well and have been amazing with her and us ever since. They truly understand dementia and treat the resident very much as a person, take the time to get to know the families and find out all about the resident's life, likes, dislikes etc. Can't recommend them enough. Wonderful staff.

From the moment my mother was taken to Cedars Mews, the staff treated her with dignity, care and friendliness. Little things, like matching the colour of her socks to her outfit, styling her hair with clips so it didn't fall in her face and finding her a reclining chair for comfort, were all appreciated and made her happy. Mum was only there for eight months before she passed away, but we couldn't have found a better place. The staff are exceptional and became friends as well as carers. The rooms are large, modern and well-a... read more

Highly recommend Cedar Mews Care Home, the staff are attentive and caring and the accommodation and facilities are excellent. The activities and entertainment are fantastic and staff encourage residents to take part but are respectful if they don't want to take part. Most importantly, my mother-in-law tells me she feels safe, happy and comfortable there.

Cedar Mews was our first choice for my wife who has dementia. When I first visited the home I was so impressed with the building, facilities and staff that it was the obvious choice for the care of my wife. Everyone is totally dedicated to ensuring the safety, dignity and care of the people there. Nothing is too much trouble. My wife is in the best possible hands and I could not wish for a better situation.

My mother moved into Cedar Mews Care Home for an initial two weeks after a fall and having a pacemaker fitted. Normally very "with it", she had become very confused and could no longer manage herself. The staff assessed her at home immediately and she was in a lovely room within five hours. Two weeks later she is happy, safe, recovering her faculties. The food, staff, level of care, facilities are superb. She is now staying permanently. She has friends, activities and loves the bubble baths. Would thoroughly recommend.

My mother moved here three months ago after her previous placement received a very poor CQC review. She was very low at that time but within several weeks returned to a very calm and happily contented disposition. I believe this due to the high level of care and support she has received at Cedar Mews.
