Things worked out very well for us at Morningside of Newport news. My husband stayed here for respite care while I was in the hospital. The only issue we had was that I had to pay for 3 weeks and he was actually only here for 5 days and I never got that money back. I would recommend to others who are looking, things went well.

[names removed] were very responsive. We did virtual and in-person tours. The drawback is that the community is only offering face-to-face visits with loved ones two days a week for 30 minutes.

Before COVID this place was a five out of five stars, now during COVID i would say it would be about a three due to the lack of communication. The staff has been as cooperative as they can be, but the communication could be better, sometimes we do not get direct answers to our questions. However we are very confident in the care our loved one is receiving. The staff is friendly and this community is very cost friendly. We chose Morningside of Newport News because of recommendations as well as they were able to work with us on the pricing. To me, the room sizes seemed adequate. I never ate here but from what I have heard from her, the food was good. I think they do have room for improvement on activities for residents who are more active. My favorite part about the community is the courtyard that they have. I would recommend this community for the right person.
I didn't realize in my first review it stated that the community was COVID-19. i was meaning to put COVID-19 free. This a excellent and safe community that keeps everyone safe. I would recommend this community to anyone!

Very close to Mom and Dad's house. Nice and clean facility. Beautiful courtyard. Food and dining experience is important to staff for residents' well-being and enjoyment.
I have not visited Morningside in person but my family tells me my mother is doing well here. They tell me the staff is very kind and attentive.
