Our family used Surf City Pediatrics for two years while we had an insurance plan that provided the flexibility to go wherever you wanted. We always paid the CO-Pays and other charges as they came. We haven't been to the facility in over 5 months and were just given a bill for services. Medical facilities like this take advantage of people with good insurance and the ability to pay. I would strongly recommend switching to Kaiser.
I used to like this office before Dr. Chang retired but I feel that the quality is no longer the same. I had a horrible recent experience with Dr. Chau who never made eye contact and seemed to be going through the motions. She barely spoke with me or my teenage daughter. She gave us no information on her exam and seemed to want to get us out of the office as soon as possible. Very sad.
Wish my wife would let us change, if you work and don't have all the time in the world don't use them. Always, always at least a half hour behind schedule. Front office staff is always rude, they always get the billing wrong, it is not hard. The Dr's are ok but not worth the hassle, going to talk to the wife again tonight about finding a new Dr.
Both doctors I liked left this practice. One of the doctors was unable to diagnose asthma after 2 visits. I am an asthmatic so I knew what was wrong. I took him to my specialist who agreed with me. For a well check up they charged my insurance $560 for the visit and vaccinations. They switched the appointment to a new doctor at the last minute. She was obviously not familiar with my son's medical history. I did not get my money's worth. Just found a new pediatrician.
Terrible service, Charged me $185. 00 for a sports release after telling me it would be free because I had been a regular patient. This type of release averages $25.00. Classic bait and switch scam!!!!!!!!!!! beware!!!!!!!!!!!
