I can usually get a same day appointment when my son is sick which is a major plus! The staff is friendly and the nurses, doctors and nurse practitioners are thorough.
Surf City Pediatrics is great. I have been taking my children there for 8 years and we love Dr. Kasamatsu. They are always able to squeeze us in for a last minute appointment if they are sick.
2011: Dr. Bennett is awesome. We have over 8 friends who also see her and we all LOVE her. My child is not a fan of strangers, but s/he just loves Dr. Bennett. Their prices are fair, but we have insurance, so it's not an issue for us. I can tell you that our old pediatrician in NPB was exorbitant on prices, so to us, surf city is cheap! This office is well staffed, great nurses and they have both a sick rooms and a healthy rooms. Highly recommend this pediatrician office to anyone in the area!
im really unimpressed so far. the office has a smell to it and no furniture just plastic single chairs. its dingy in here and a huge dissapointment since we came to be accustomed to nice offices in Newport beach and irvine. i thought fountain valley's was a step down but this one is not the quality i came to expect from coastal kids. whyyy?? We've also been waiting for almost 20 minutes now And we were the only ones in here to start.

My two children have been coming to Surf City Pediatrics since they were born. Just recently they called us to schedule the kids check-up and the morning of they called and said they no longer accept our PPO insurance. So unfortunate that they don't care enough to know that this was a big deal to our family and for my children's stability. I used to recommend this office , which is now Coastal Kids, and I will not longer recommend because of the lack of empathy they have showed our family. I love the doctors and the nurses here but their service is very slow. I've had to wait in the patient rooms for over 30 minutes with no one to check up on me and it feels like I'm trapped in these rooms feeling forgotten... it's also very contradicting and time wasting especially since they tell you to come in 15 minutes early.

My daughter has been a patient here since she was a baby and we've always trusted this office with her care. Unfortunately, that changed recently. I scheduled her 7th grade vaccine appointment weeks in advance, confirmed the appointment, and showed up on time. After waiting, we were informed that they no longer accept our Blue Shield PPO insurance. This is through PERS and my husband is a first responder, so we were shocked. The wait times past appointment time are unacceptable. We routinely wait 1h-1.5h after appointment time to see the doctor. The doctors are good but the front desk needs to get a grip on scheduling.

Good luck trying to get vaccine records. My daughter had an appointment coming up and after leaving a week of voice-mails for Erin the nurse (hopefully Alaya from scheduling gave me the correct name) I finally got a hold of her the following Monday around noon. She took down my email address but never sent the vaccine records I requested.
