I had always taken my son to Dr Chang at this location and trusted that they had my child's best interest at hand until........ I noticed his one eye wandering one day so I immediately took him in to get her s eyes tested. The nurse was in the process of taking him out of the room to test his eyes when I asked to observe. The nurse said it was ok for me to stay in the room the she would bring him right back so I insisted on coming along. First of all, I want it to be known that this review is not in regards to the doctors. The only reason we stay with Surf City is because we LOVE Dr. Bennett and Lacey so much. This review is in regards to the front office staff. They might be the rudest, most unprofessional medical office staff I have experienced. Just spoke with Laurie, office manager. Very disappointed in the office services to patients. I have been going to this place since 2000, when Dr.Chang was in charge. So disappointed with the level of customer or patient services. With 4 people in the office they can't find the time to look at a child's chart and give me the information from our last appointment? I was asking for anything private, it was a referral number. That does not take a nurse to open a file.

We have been going to Surf City Pediatrics for about 4 years now (since my sons birth), and I have to say, I am truly disappointed in the treatment I received today from the front office. I had an amazing experience with the care provider and all the nurses today. That has been the norm and why I commute to take my son to this office. We've been going here for almost 3 years. We had switched pediatricians 3 years ago, hoping this office would be better. At the time of the switch, they had a 4 star Yelp rating and now I'm seeing the score drop... Rightfully so! I agree with most of the complaints on here around the front office and disorder of this entire office. This place was awful. I came in once for my daughters newborn 2 week check up. When you walk in it's the sick child area and off in another room is well child. Having a newborn and being my first time I thought they'd tell me to go to well child but instead had me waiting for 10 min in sick child until they told me to go to the other room around the corner which can't be seen from the main waiting area. My son goes to Dr. Kasamatsu. She a wonderful and caring doctor. The main reason for the two stars is because of the rudeness and inconsiderate behavior to the point of straight up arrogance displayed by the office's front desk personnel. My son got into an accident and I contacted the office for appointment to see the his doctor. Love Dr Kasamatsu and NP Claudine BUT HUGE disappointment with the RUDE front office staff!!! Every time we have gone from check in to check out. I get they are busy but they seem to always try to brush you off and make you feel like you are inconveniencing them by asking any questions. Been going to this office since my daughter was born. 8 years ago. When it was Dr. Changs office. A year ago we switched to a different pediatrician. When This place vaccinates They don't tell you what's being given and why. They don't tell you about any risks. How about INFORMED CONSENT? every dr is supposed to do it regarding ANY medical procedure INCLUDING VACCINES. They don't want to answer any questions.
