Bought my first home in 2017 which still had the original HVAC system to when the home was built (1996 - 23yrs!!). When the heater was malfunctioning during this past season's cold snap, I called a company closer to my location to assess the issues. The blower/return unit in the attic needed a considerable amount of work done to operate again, and even then, the technician of that company didn't think the fixes would last this year's brutal summer.
