Spicy chicken has come to wilmington and we have been expecting it. It's a fast food restaurant which means it will be greasy. Since I don't eat much spicy food, I would recommend to start with the mild or the options below. The options above medium are for the spicy lovers and those that like to sweat while eating. The line was long but only because we went on their opening day. We order the sliders and they were huge and we also ordered their Mac and cheese which was AMAZING! The hands down best chicken sandwich in Wilmington. Had the spicy #2. Dave's compared to Chik-Fil-A is like comparing "Mess Hall" to McDonald's. That 3/5 rating someone left is not something you want to go by nor does it exhibit any experience with rating or tasting food if being honest! Although a tad pricey, the sliders (along with mac & cheese) lasted two full meals. Do yourself a favor... if you enjoy a chicken sandwich, give this place a shot!

Very pricey for 2 small tenders, fries and 2 pieces of white bread. $15 with a drink is almost double Zaxby and it's half the food. Flavor was good on the chicken and pickles were fresh. Fries were good but you really can't mess them up. Line was long but good comes out fast. Tables were dirty as turnover was too quick to keep up. Maybe we will try again once they are settled.

Dave's Hot Chicken is located by Independence Mall next to Masa sushi. Waited in a long line on their grand opening day, but their staff tried to make the line go as fast as possible. After you place your order with the cashier, wait until your number is called and then sit anywhere inside. There is also outdoor seating. Cool colorful graffiti is painted all over the walls inside. When we heard there was a new hot chicken chain coming to Wilmington, we knew we wanted to try it ASAP. We decided to take a chance and show up on opening day and arrived around 11:30am. The wait was about 40 minutes, but once we ordered the food came out super fast. It's definitely a little pricey, but even though you only get "two tenders" it's actually a good amount of food with the sides. Daves Hot Chicken Corporation sold for a Billion dollars this summer. I had to check it out! Food - greasy, flavorless, fries cold. No grilled option, no salad. Service- I came in on crutches, tipped 15% and sat outside. No one bothered to run out food to the table or check on us. Ambiance - sat outside because inside lacked character and was very sterile, no music outside...nothing redeeming about it. Value - got two #3's and one tea. Cost us $38.50. From the time I walked in the door it took 40 minutes for me to get 2 tenders, food is not worth the price at all, for five dollars per tender you're way better off getting a chic fil a sandwich. And the music was on full blast the entire time, so loud you can barely hear yourself think.

We waited 22 minutes after we ordered our food to receive it. Garbages overflowing and every table dirty. We have to clean one. Food was almost cold One and done for us.
