The closest to "Nashville Hot Chicken" that I've found at the East Coast! As soon as I saw Dave's was coming I knew I had to try... And for taste I wasn't disappointed. I will say first impressions: * Long line at noon, but it wen pretty fast. Got in line at 12:28 and got our food at 1:01. * Environment is loud. The chicken is good quality, but I like a variety of sauces and they offer the one sauce (mayo & ketchup) . And it's over priced (one chicken tender slider, one chicken tender on the side and a small boat of fries were $14 - so 2 chicken tenders, 2 slices of bread and a small order of fries. It's fast food. That didn't include the drink. Poor price point. I'd rather have zaxby's for the price (5 chicken tenders, any sauce you want, fries, drink & Texas toast for $13).

I've eaten at multiple Hot Chicken establishments in Nashville and it's fought to choose a favorite. When I see one in other towns I have to try it to get my HC fix. Dave's is "ok", heat level is moderate for the Hot but the sodium level is way to high!

Have you missed me?!? It's been a minute, So first things first, I arrived at Dave's Hot Chicken on a rainy day and it was almost completely empty, with the exception of two other patrons and what seemed like a a million staffers (about 8). I order my food, a number 2 (there are only three options) which consists of 2 sliders and fries. I also ordered an additional side of mac and cheese, because why not. I was introduced to "hot chicken" a few years back and was excited to see it come to Wilmington. I must say, although it was good, the mild was spicier than I would have liked, so be aware of the spice levels and enjoy in moderation.

I have recently been introduced to hot chicken. The very first place I had was Rocky's Hot Chicken in Asheville NC. That being said I had a very high expectation for Dave's going in. I went just a few days after the opening day. When I arrived, I could see people in line starting at the register going all the way to the entrance of the building. Just had it last night . I order the Dave #2 the two sliders and fries. They very nice sliders , better then kfc ! I got the light Dave cause by basic boyfriend doesn't like spicy foods and it was enough to split and we was both full . Next time I'll go a level up on the spice . The prices are ok . It was a long line had to wait maybe 20 minutes in the line and then 15 minutes after we order . It's a bunch of young kids working in there .

Spicy chicken has come to wilmington and we have been expecting it. It's a fast food restaurant which means it will be greasy. Since I don't eat much spicy food, I would recommend to start with the mild or the options below. The options above medium are for the spicy lovers and those that like to sweat while eating. The line was long but only because we went on their opening day. We order the sliders and they were huge and we also ordered their Mac and cheese which was AMAZING!
