It's nice to have a hot chicken option in Indy now! The chicken itself is high quality and tastes good, the hot level was pretty spicy and the mild was very flavorful. However, the sides were average at best. The Mac and cheese was creamy, but bland, and the fries weren't very good honestly, the dipping sauce helped a lot though. Loved coming to this place. Staff is nice and the food is good. The manager came and chatted with us to see how the food was.

Situated on Mass Ave, Dave's offers something Indy doesn't quite have much competition on... Nashville-style hot chicken. The menu is short and sweet, you won't have a hard time deciding what to order - it is very straightforward. The chicken itself is white and incredibly juicy. We were very impressed with the quality. This place recently opened on Mass Ave and offers some delicious hot chicken. They've got the spice for sure. I just got medium level and really enjoyed it, my friends got Extra Hot and one bite had me sweating (I like to think I can handle spice)! You can also sign a waiver for their hottest level-- "The Reaper". We heard lines can be really long here since opening (up to 45 min), but it was surprisingly not bad on a Friday around 6pm! We had no line. Fries were so good, and their sauce is kickin. I'd recommend!

Overall pretty good hot chicken. The tender was a little too salty for my liking, but I really enjoyed the sandwich. Mostly likely will be back! Nice spot to visit Downtown Indianapolis.

I enjoyed my experience at Dave's. The food was really fresh and came out pretty fast. There was a line, fairly because it's new.. but the service was great. The cashier was very knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered a chicken slider with the sauce "Hot" and boy was it hot! I enjoyed my food, and I think a lot of people would too! I heard mid reviews and had to try it myself. Great addition to the Mass Ave.

Went and tried the famous Dave's hot chicken . Everything was good first off we went during the fast week and it was very crowded. We went on a Sunday and the line moved very fast . We decided to both get the 2 sliders and fries, our son which is 3 got the mac and cheese . I've had Dave's in LA and wasn't super impressed but figured i'd give it a shot here as well since it'd been so many years. Still no impressed and prefer Hot Chikin in Ft. Sq. or Joella's in Broad Ripple

I wanted to like this so badddd it tasted mainly like chili powder and a few other spices. Mediocre at best. The one I had in LA tasted better. The service was fast though considering the line.
