My husband had been wanting to try this place and when we finally had a good opportunity to go, it didn't disappoint! The fries were crispy and well seasoned, the portions were a good size, and it didn't take long at all to get our food. I ordered tenders and he got a slider/tender meal, both of us got medium, which was a nice level of spice. We were surprised at the sweetness of the seasoning, but it was tasty! When I was visiting family in Indianapolis recently, I had the chance to finally try Dave's Hot Chicken (I just found out they have a location in DC that I never knew about). I got their #3, which is 1 Tender and 1 Slider with Fries. It was good, nice enough heat without it being so hot that it's uncomfortable to eat. We came here for a quick bite before seeing a show at Old National. We were able to order and get our food very quickly. I have heard from people who have came here before that their spice can get pretty spicy so I opted for No Spice for my first try. I also have to get Mac and cheese whenever it is offered. Food was really good! I got the combo number 4 which came with one slider and fries. I got my slider extra hot which is the second highest on the scale. The chicken was really juicy and actually quite spicy, fries were great and I like the sauce it comes with. Service was polite and quick. Ambiance was just ok, but definitely a convenient location.

This was my first time ever trying Daves hot chicken so I was very excited! Walking into the location, there were not many people inside, but the kitchen was busy. I walked up to the counter for my to go order, and the cashier was rude and told me it wasn't ready yet. Another staff member behind her had my bag of food in her hand and was chit chatting with other staff while twirling my food around. Walked in on a Friday night and was able to walk right up to the register and order. Went for the #3. There was a few people in front of us so we waited about 8-10minutes for our food. We got it, hot and fresh. This is our 3 time here and every time it gets better. It's a big location and the inside is always clean and bright. This is one of new favorite spots.
Thanks to my husband's recent hot chicken obsession, we've had Dave's Hot Chicken several times over the last few non the. We typically order it as carryout and the process is quite seamless. The menu is fairly limited and consists of tenders, sliders and full sandwiches with sides like slaw and fries. I typically go for the medium heat tenders with fries. I love hot chicken. I've tried it from almost every restaurant in the area. When I started working downtown a friend suggested trying Dave's. I was glad they did! The chicken is amazing!
