TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

The Sunnyvale Dave's Hot Chicken is great. The decor is clean and modern. Friendly and efficient service from the minute you walk in. They're open late. The chicken is tender and flavorful, but (as the name suggests) can be quite spicy. The fries are also fresh and delicious. This is rare for me, but I actually like their special sauce. Overall I plan to go back!

I got the Dave's #3 1 Slider and 1 Tender with fries along with a large vanilla shake. The food slapped and the porportions I could've probably got away with a single slider or two tenders. The fries were really good. The service was pretty quick and easy, there are four menu items and you order at the counter and pick up the food once they call out your number. The place had a pretty casual fast food dining vibe. And the place had a loooot of kids, young folks.

After reading Christina L.'s (yelp elite) review, I had to come down to Sunnyvale and get a spicy chicken sandwich. Her spicy chicken sandwich photos were awesome. It makes it easier to see photos and order what my yelp friends order so that I don't get any surprises. Sometimes it can be disappointing to see it in person though.
