TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Surprisingly solid chicken: tender, juicy, flavorful, and depending on your tolerance and preference, spiced well enough to be serviceable. Personally, having ordered the second hottest level ("Extra Hot") with my sliders (I'm not a big fan of the Carolina Reaper's flavor, even though I can take the heat), and it barely registered on my Scoville radar; my wife had a similar reaction to the Medium which, knowing how spice-adverse she USED to be, brought a tear to me eye! It's been a little while since I stopped by here again. We ordered the Dave's #2 which comes with two sliders, and fries. We subbed the fries for Mac & cheese since we also ordered a regular size Dave's loaded fries. Food came out quickly, hot and fresh. Flavors were good like usual. Big piece of juicy chicken with the slider.
The food was excellent for fast food. Chicken had a nice crunch factor and tender and moist inside. I ordered 2 sliders and fries and could only eat one. Also a side of Mac that I split with my partner. The service was friendly and the food came out quickly. The restaurant was very clean as well as the restrooms. We will be back!
First off, I like this place. Its quality is top tier and is almost sit down restaurant that just happens to have a drive thru. Chicken is hot, flavorful, never dry and is fried fresh, I assume as I've never felt like it's been sitting around. So that alone is worth giving this place a try. This location had a drive-thru, which was pretty neat. Ordering was easy, service was quick, and food was amazing. Can't beat it!
The wait time here is not terrible, considering they are busy as heck. The chicken is Moist and flavorful and the breading has a delightful crunch. I love the pickles, not too salty of vinegary. It's cool they have varying levels of heat. I got the hot which had a pleasant amount of spice and heat. This is a cool little place but a bit loud inside, they do have outdoor dining. I can't imagine how busy they'd be if they had a drive thru! It's worth the wait.
