About this business

TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Really great at first. After the first few trips, the portion sizes dropped significantly. This makes it hard to justify approx $15 per person, although the food really is delicious. The meager portions of their signature sauce (2oz cups that are about a quarter full) combined with the paltry chicken servings give a "cheapskate" feel to the experience. Kind of tough to recommend at this point, but we'll definitely give it another shot sometime in the future.

Drinks - I know marketing strategies are good to have, and this may be a norm in California, but, why do they charge extra for drinks? Meals themselves (like the Dave's number 2) are upwards of $14! For that prices like that a drink should be included. Also, what's with the sizes? Small and a regular are the only sizes they have and the regular isn't even close to a large. Food - We have been to this store before and wanted to give it another shot but it somehow got worse this time? Fries the first time were uncooked and ... read more

Well that's a first for me when ordering a fast food combo, in this case a slider and fries for $9.99 (the cheapest item on the drive up menu) expecting the drink was included. Ummmm $1.99 for a small Diet Coke? Bringing the total to almost $13.00. I'll stick with the yummy combos at the other chicken place!

Mediocre and overpriced. Paid $30 for two meals! And what do you get? Basically chicken and fries -- yeah there are slices of bread and pickles too, like that's supposed to be something. And combos don't come with drinks?? Quit being cheap and offer drinks with your combos like everyone else. Only reason it's two stars instead of one is that the hot chicken actually was hot and the Dave's sauce is pretty good. Otherwise, I do not recommend and we won't be going back.

I don't know where all these 4-5 Star reviews came from, I'm a bit disappointed I ordered 10 sliders, this cost me over $40 bucks. To me a slider is meat with a bunch or some sort of bread that makes a small sandwich. What I got was to go, When I got it home and opened the tin foil what I found for my $40 plus was 5 (FIVE)!! pieces of plan white grocery store cheap soggy sandwich bread just normal slices of bread under 10 pieces of chicken, Extremely disappointing it was my first time there and without question my last.... read more

First time trying after seeing the hype for this place on social media for years. If you have had hot chicken anywhere close to the south, don't waste your time or money. Small pieces of dry rubbed chicken with cayenne for heat served on stale bread. Fries weren't crisp and seemed to have sat in warmers. Overall very disappointed and won't be back. All hype and you can tell by the crowd inside it is just a social media influenced outing. I don't see it lasting very long in the area especially when the other popular chai... read more

Unfortunately, I was not able to click on that link. I think you have all the potential to be a good chicken place. I just have a few critiques like don't be scared to cook the chicken at six minutes. Don't worry about it being pink. You want it to come out juicy. We shouldn't have to ask her are french fries to be well done. They shouldn't come out cold in the middle. Then the fact that you do not even have ranch was the topping on the cake. I mean when you order hot wings, you automatically get ranch or blue cheese. I am j... read more

Not what I expected. There was a lot of seasoning on the chicken and it was dry. I ordered it mild. The fries were over seasoned and salty. I also ordered the mac and cheese, which was the better part of the meal. It was expensive! $13 for two chicken strips, bread, pickles and mac and cheese. This morning my hands ache like they do when I eat MSG. I don't see the draw to this place. Cute logo. I don't think it will be around long. I might be wrong because people also think In and Out is great. Save your money an... read more
