TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Have been wanting to try this place for some time and finally had the chance to try Dave's today. Overall really good experience. We showed up at lunch time and despite being super busy restaurant was very clean and service was great. Our food was very good and I will say that because I really don't like friend chicken but this is as cooked very well and still very juicy. Plus the added spice was also on point. Dropped into Dave's Hot Chicken for a quick - late - lunch with a friend recently. Glad I did. The good - the food and the service. That was some tasty, juicy chicken. Medium heat was the right choice for me. Thanks to the person taking our order for the advice that medium is hotter than you'd expect. I was going to order the Hot and I'm glad I didn't. You should all try this place for yourself and support their opening. My notes: The dining area is large. Two people taking orders and we didn't have to wait at 5:00 pm on Thursday. Napkin dispensers are available where you pick up your food and at the soda fountain. (None at the table) Meals start at $9.99 (1 slider and a side) and do not include a drink. Ok clearly there's a reason for the lines. It's good chicken. Now the reason for my 3 stars. Let's be honest. How you gonna serve hot chicken and not have ranch but your Dave's sauce is just mayo and ketchup. Make a better sauce or put some ranch in the menu because that lost you a star right there. Dave's is so good! I'm so happy there is one in Idaho now. I got the medium tender sandwich and it was so good. I also really like the Mac and cheese and fries. Their chocolate milkshakes are really good too. When I was there it was super busy but the Line was fast. Their customer service is also fantastic. While I was eating Avery (a worker) came over and offered me a refill and to take my trash. I was really appreciative of this and he was super friendly. Definitely coming back here.
Dave's hot chicken has some delicious and flavorful and juicy chicken sandwiches and tenders. I highly recommend them I've been looking for a hot chicken sandwich that could rival Popeyes and I'm not gonna say that they're better but Popeyes is the king then Dave's hot chicken is the queen. cluck cluck.

Nothing will ever be quite as amazing as the original Hattie B's Hot Chicken in Nashville, but with that said.. Dave's is my favorite that I've found in town! I have been twice now, once dining in and once thru the drive thru. Both times the food was consistent and delicious! Friendly service too! The drive thru went surprisingly quick and food tasted just as good as my dine in experience.
