TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

I ordered a medium #1 (two tenders, fries, white bread) and also checked in on Yelp for a free chocolate milkshake. The food came out very fast and the woman at the cashier was pretty friendly too for the various questions I had. It is very spacious and pretty clean inside, and there is retro hipster-esque art painted on the walls. I was in the mood for some spicy chicken but I guess I should have gotten a higher spice level. I saw a TikTok about this place, and when I searched it didn't realize we have a location nearby! I made an order on the app and it was ready within about 10 minutes. Food was hot and fresh, chicken super crispy. I went with mild and medium, but next time I'll go a bit hotter and put some honey on the chicken. Sides were great, too. The kale salad is delicious. The store is new, everything super clean. The staff was courteous. A bit pricy for fast food, at $20 for the meal + 1 additional side (free drink from the app), but b... read more

Hubby ordered the Dave's #1 Hot Tender Basket and I ordered the Dave's #3 Mild Tender & Mild Slider Basket. Our food came out in about 5 minutes. Everything was delicious! Was at U Albany for a work trip and was so happy to find a Dave's right by campus! If you haven't heard of Dave's yet...yikes, and yes it is worth the hype. What I like the most is how everything on the menu can be customized to your preferences. I wasn't a huge fan of the cheese sauce but the seasoning on the chicken and if you love spice, here's your chance to add as much as you want! This spot is also HUGE!
