About this business

TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

I like that they have a small and straightforward menu. They serve spicy fried chicken and they've perfected it. The milkshake was by far one of the best milkshakes I've ever had, a good blend of flavor, sweetness, and creaminess. The slider buns were small, it's not as big as a typical burger. It was the perfect amount of spice for me. I got the lite mild and my BF got the extra hot. Fries were good too. Four stars because I wasn't totally in love with the flavor.

Sometimes I really appreciate a place that does just one thing, and does it right. Dave's hot chicken is definitely better than many of the popular chicken places, with great variety in their spice levels. The Carolina Reaper was very, very hot, and a great way to impress your friends, but the spice rub is a bit dry and it's difficult to get flavor out of it. I suggest the mid-range sandwiches, they have a sweeter undertone and go very well with the sauce.

Like an edgier version of Cane's originally from East Hollywood.. Fun street art on the walls, and pretty busy on Saturday night. You get to choose the heat of your chicken tenders, and "hot" is actually hot. $14 for two chicken tenders and a basket of fries. I'm probably not the target market for this place. I mean, I'm glad this place replaced a mattress store, and the college kids seem to like it.

10/10 Holy that is some DELICIOUS chicken!! Can't recommend it more than enough!! Very flavorful chicken and the spice is a nice touch. I got the tender & slider, at first I wasn't expecting a lot of food, but it was a decent size, bigger than canes for sure. And very filling. I'd recommend getting the sliders I loved it!! For spice - I got medium and could not really taste it. That said, I like spice and have a decent amount, so if you like spice I'd say go for hot at least. If not, mild would be a good option. YUM. That ch... read more

I really loved the slider! The fries were pretty typical seasoned fries and the side of bread was just a plain piece of white bread with no butter or anything. The chicken was really good though! I got lite mild and it was the perfect spice for me! And the chicken wasn’t dry or anything. The workers were awesome! The atmosphere was okay. The music was really loud so it made it hard to talk.
