TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

HOLY FREAK THIS IS GOOD!!! We made the long drive from Morgan County to Provo for my son's soccer game and decided on Dave's Hot Chicken after the game. We had never tried it before. Best decision I've made all week! The chicken is perfectly crispy/crusty on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. I like everything about this spot except my fries were cold. That Sammy though! Piping hot and super flavorful. Heat range from mild to Reaper. The bun is sweet like the Hawaiian rolls... perfect with the spicy chicken. But those fries. I got it to go to checkout the care... meh. Calvin was very good helping with the order process and when there was a line 3 deep, he called for backup. The ice tea is very good... at least the peach was. We went back for some tenders and sliders, and were not disappointed. Consistent and delicious. Took some photos this time. We were lucky to get Chill Will helping us again. He's the biz. The medium spice was perfect again, and the new person I brought with us also really enjoyed their slider/tender. We had to wait just a minute or two for a table, but people noticed us and cleaned up and left so we could sit. The are also outside tables available. Don't let the names "sliders" and "tenders" fool you, the sizes are like normal sized chicken sandwiches. The chicken itself was crispy and juicy. The heat to spice levels are well explained. Service is friendly and knowledgeable on their menu items. The atmosphere is fun and casual.
We stopped here for date night after getting out of a late movie since there were not many places still open. I'm so happy we decided to try something new instead of grabbing a burger because the chicken and fries are the chef's kiss! The staff was so kind and explained to us, the most popular items and levels. I ended up going with the mild and my husband got the light mild - I will probably go to medium next time.
