This was a tricky one for me- I frequently visit pretty bird so unfortunately I feel like my review is slightly biased based on my love for that. I ordered two chicken strips with melted cheese... it was just ok? Seasoning didn't have a ton of flavor and the actual meat had a few questionable pieces. Its good. Prices are a little high for soggy krinkle cut fries and nacho cheese but the chicken is good. I think the medium is a perfect level of spice. The cook on the chicken and crispiness of the breading is really good. I don't understand the two slices of cheapo white bread, but i guess its a southern thing. I could do without it or at least they could toast the bread or something. Dave's sauce is pretty good too. I don't think there's anything to rave about here but its good. This is a fun place, high energy, excellent fry puns, and cool decor. With the hype of fried chicken in Utah, I always wonder what new places have to offer. This place adds a new vein to the chicken scene... heat. There are a few places that scratch the surface, but I've never seen one requiring a waiver to order the hottest reaper sauce. It was our first time trying Dave's Hot Chicken and we were so impressed. The chicken sat in our car for 30 minutes and was still super juicy, crispy, and flavorful. The seasoning on the fries was really good too. We loved the sauce and wish we had ordered extra! We LOVED that we were able to choose the spice level on the chicken too. Dave's Hot Chicken keeps it simple and does it right. We tried both sliders and tenders the med spice is less than anticipated but I am betting the heat will be packing with the hot on up. The decor is bright and urban; full of energy. The staff was friendly, helpful, kind, and they were killing it. The milkshake was good with more substance than other fast food eateries. Very few places around here are open late, but Dave's is, and they chose a location right across from another late open place.
