Good Hot Chicken. The heat levels say what they mean. Hot is no-kidding burn your face off hot, I'll have to work up to "extra hot" and "reaper". The breading is crispy, the meat juicy. The fries were a bit salty one half star off for that Counter service, and they have the obligatory tip screen before you could pay. One half star off for that. Friendly employees.

Stopped into the new(ish) Dave's Hot Chicken in Wake Forest for lunch on a recent Sunday. It's an L-shaped shop, with counter at the front, dining room to the right and back. Order at the counter, you get a pager that buzzes when your order is ready. Menu is straightforward - they have chicken! Nothing to write home about as it's just deep fried chicken strips on a Hawaiian sweet roll style hoagie bun with their special sauce (optional) and mediocre fries. Not bad but not something that made me like "damn that's good, I'm definitely coming back".

Decent enough chicken but unbelievably slow even after ordering it online. Fries, pickles and bread are nothing to write home about. People were nice enough.

My daughter and I decided to try Dave's when we were heading to pick up Cava in the next parking lot. There was a long line (only one register open) but it moved quickly. It's a really nice setup with plenty of seating. It did take some time to get our order, but it was worth it as I believe everything is made to order (not 100% sure). We ordered the Dave's bites (mild) with fries. They were definitely worth the wait, so yummy. The chicken bites were perfectly seasoned, so were the fries. I loved the Dave's sauce. Parking 5 Clean 5 Service friendly people The ambiance was vibrant and the spicy chicken they serve. This location firming the holidays they give tickets for you to with extras (we didn't but you could) It is easy to get to and the wait was about 15 minutes start to finish. New hot spot in town that is a favorite for a lot of folks who have tried Dave's Hot Chicken in other states. Expect a bit of a wait if you're walking in. For me, I ordered online and got my food in 10 minutes. I skipped the line and picked it up. This is an excellent way to treat yourself to Dave's Hot Chicken while the wait is long. What's up with these different chicken craze restaurants? New twist but same service across the visit. I didn't get any overwhelming desire to revisit. I will but not going to rush back. PDQ was down the road and didn't make it. I thought they did a better job. If you don't want to tip in a fast food establishment you need to be aware to hit "other" after the tip % line.
