Service was good, food was excellent. Potions were large. This was my first time eating there as I don't usually eat fast food but, I had Five Guys when they first open which is in the same place and it was horrible. Burger had no taste and a burger and fries with drink cost over $20.00! At Dave's Hot Chicken I got a slider with cheese, fries and a drink. Good Hot Chicken. The heat levels say what they mean. Hot is no-kidding burn your face off hot, I'll have to work up to "extra hot" and "reaper". The breading is crispy, the meat juicy. The fries were a bit salty one half star off for that Counter service, and they have the obligatory tip screen before you could pay. One half star off for that. Friendly employees.

Stopped into the new(ish) Dave's Hot Chicken in Wake Forest for lunch on a recent Sunday. It's an L-shaped shop, with counter at the front, dining room to the right and back. Order at the counter, you get a pager that buzzes when your order is ready. Menu is straightforward - they have chicken! Nothing to write home about as it's just deep fried chicken strips on a Hawaiian sweet roll style hoagie bun with their special sauce (optional) and mediocre fries. Not bad but not something that made me like "damn that's good, I'm definitely coming back".
