We popped in for lunch, our first visit to Dave's. Cadaisha gave us a warm and welcoming greeting. She thoroughly reviewed to menu and shared her personal preferences and explained the levels of heat we could order for our chicken. The slider was awesome, the slaw and Dave sauce put this sandwich over the top. You need to give this place a try, you will be happy you did I.

Finally good hot chicken in richmond. Seems like the bad reviews are because of wait time but those kinks have been figured out. Super popular chicken spot nationwide and I'm glad richmond was lucky enough to get one! Fun and trendy atmosphere.

Dave's is a solid chain, love that one came into town. It's a new and popular spot, so you will probably wait. I expected this being a SoCal transplant where waiting in line for hot chicken is totally normal. Seems like many people leaving reviews don't understand the cultural hype of it. It's a new spot with new staff, be kind and patient. Or go somewhere else for flavorless chicken. Food is good, but be prepared for an hour wait for your meal. From what I could see, the staff in the front were very inefficient. Overall ambiance and food were great, but I don't think I will come back anytime soon unless I have a 2 hour availability in my schedule.

My husband finally caved in and decided to give this a place a try after taking my son to the Barnes and Nobel across the street from here. I honestly have never heard of this place but I'm glad that the hubby pulled the trigger and got us to try this! My husband did say that even when he put the online order, the time that they said that would be ready was not ready when he arrived. He had to wait for another 15-20 mins afterwards. Had a great experience at Dave's Hot Chicken! It was my first time ever and the front-of-house staff were incredibly kind and knowledgeable.The options were pretty standard but I enjoyed that there were different heat levels that I could choose from. I ordered the two slider combo, and honestly, they were so big I could've gotten away with just one. This place is good! To the people complaining about the food time wait, I totally get it, but you have to understand they just opened and if you've been there, you know the lines are out the door! I think the food is delicious. The chicken is fried but not greasy at all. It is different than any other chicken place I've had. I have learned since Covid to give new restaurants some grace.
