Get directionsSadly, I had to have my dog euthanized yesterday. The entire ER staff could not have been nicer or more compassionate. They treated my dog with loving care and understood the pain I was experiencing.
Great job but costly when you walk in the door. But, they knew the problem, gave medicine and Miles was better in a few days.
I have used this facility for three of my dogs at different times and was very happy they were there to help my dogs. The staff on duty has been kind, compassionate, and professional. Each time they were able to do what was necessary to make my pets feel better....and me too. Very happy they are here and I would and have recommended them to others.
What special care we all received. They will be forever in our hearts.
Our dogs have been going to Dogs and Cats since they opened and we absolutely love Dr. Arrington. She always advocates for what's best for our dogs. She's absolutely awesome. Sir Nikoli Redwolf -- our prize siberian husky -- just had a mass removed from his ear and Dr. Garnett and his staff have been so kind and caring.
Business response:

I called to see if they would sedate my dog to shave him (he’s very aggressive) because his fur was blocking his ability to pee or poop. They said yes bring him in. I get there, they tell me it’s not an emergency and sent us home. 45 min drive for nothing and my dog still needs help. Wouldn’t take my animal here if it were the last emergency vet in Maryland.
Business response:
Hilary, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re sorry for the frustration and inconvenience this caused, especially given the 45-minute drive and your concern for your dog’s comfort. We understand how upsetting it can be to seek help for a difficult situation and leave feeling that your pet’s needs were not addressed. Emergency care decisions are made based on medical urgency at the time of arrival, but we recognize that the information shared over the phone created an expectation that was not met. Heartbreaking Experience – Lack of Compassion and Delayed Care On May 24th around 8 p.m., my husband called to ask about the wait time to have our dog, Tootsie, seen for sudden regurgitation. We were told 2–4 hours. He arrived shortly after, only to wait two hours just to complete paperwork and wait in his car with Tootsie for hours. Tootsie wasn’t taken for vitals until 12 a.m. on the 25th, and we didn’t receive any update until nearly 4 a.m., when we were told she was “being monitored.” The initial Dr. that we were event... read more
