Our dogs have been going to Dogs and Cats since they opened and we absolutely love Dr. Arrington. She always advocates for what's best for our dogs. She's absolutely awesome. Sir Nikoli Redwolf -- our prize siberian husky -- just had a mass removed from his ear and Dr. Garnett and his staff have been so kind and caring.

Business response:

Elizabeth, thank you for taking time to provide feedback your visit and observations. We're glad to hear your interactions with our team were kind and caring. We're very passionate about our work, which is why your feedback is so valuable.

I called to see if they would sedate my dog to shave him (he’s very aggressive) because his fur was blocking his ability to pee or poop. They said yes bring him in. I get there, they tell me it’s not an emergency and sent us home. 45 min drive for nothing and my dog still needs help. Wouldn’t take my animal here if it were the last emergency vet in Maryland.

Business response:

Hilary, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re sorry for the frustration and inconvenience this caused, especially given the 45-minute drive and your concern for your dog’s comfort. We understand how upsetting it can be to seek help for a difficult situation and leave feeling that your pet’s needs were not addressed. Emergency care decisions are made based on medical urgency at the time of arrival, but we recognize that the information shared over the phone created an expectation that was not met. Heartbreaking Experience – Lack of Compassion and Delayed Care On May 24th around 8 p.m., my husband called to ask about the wait time to have our dog, Tootsie, seen for sudden regurgitation. We were told 2–4 hours. He arrived shortly after, only to wait two hours just to complete paperwork and wait in his car with Tootsie for hours. Tootsie wasn’t taken for vitals until 12 a.m. on the 25th, and we didn’t receive any update until nearly 4 a.m., when we were told she was “being monitored.” The initial Dr. that we were event... read more

I have brought two pets here, both with less-than-ideal experiences. The first pet was a cat who just had a seizure - he refused to eat or drink so I took him to this place. They charged me a few hundred dollars to take a look at him and then tell me they couldn't do anything. I was worried about him being dehydrated and not wanting to drink anything, but they wouldn't even give me fluids to take home to administer. It was basically a "yeah, he's not doing well, but good luck on your own." Fortunately, the cat lived a fe... read more

I drove an hour one way because my dog had a swollen eye and seemed pretty uncomfortable. When I got there the staff couldn’t see what I was talking about, he was pretty excited to be at the vet and him not sitting still made it harder to see (even I had difficulty trying to point it out because he would not sit still). Based on the staff’s reaction, I started second guessing myself, thinking maybe I didn’t see what I thought. We went home. The picture attached (in the comment) I took the next morning. Needless to say I’m a ... read more
