Back in July, I lost me beloved Ben, my best friend of nearly seven years. Ben had been through more with me than my family and friends. Dr. Chew did everything humanly possible to save him, but it wasn't meant to be. Even in my distress, I could see her grief as well. Ben had been a patient there for a long time. Dr. Rocchio also performed two superior surgeries in previous years, giving Ben such a better quality of life. I cannot say enough about these doctors and their staff. They truly do treat your pets as their... read more
I've been taking my babies to EGAH since they opened. I think I have visited every doctor and assistant and have zero complaints. They have attended to every need from the most basic yearly shots to the frantic OMG I'm driving to you and will be there in 5 minutes. They have boarding but I haven't used that service. They also have grooming and I have used that in the past but for Basset Hounds it is really just nail clipping and shampoo - can't really go wrong in that regard. I've had 3 dogs and 2 cats over the past years ... read more
I have two rabbit friends and we have been going to the East Greenbush Animal Hospital(EGAH) for just about two years now. In those two years I have never had a bad experience. Everyone on the staff is friendly, the vet techs as well as the veterinarians I've met are knowledgeable of rabbits and genuinely seem to care about my buns. Both of my rabbits have been neutered at EGAH, the procedure is costly but included a complimentary ear cleaning, nail trim, and a two week post neuter follow up appointment to make sure everythi... read more
I took my rabbit here on the recommendation of the House Rabbits Society. Some vets are clueless when it comes to animals other than cats and dogs, but Dr. Chew really put me at ease. She's raised several rabbits, and hey, her name would even make a good name for a rabbit. It was neutering time, or as they call it, "castration - rabbit," and they were really good with him. Only one rabbit in 13 years has had complications after surgery there. And it'd better be safe, because after two trips, I've already paid them more than... read more
My cat died because they misdiagnosed him now if we even go we request the other doctor who correctly diagnosed him but unfortunately it was too late! Shame on you East Greenbush Animal Hospital!
I joined yelp just to leave this review(this happened nearly 2 years ago,as my original review on the EGBAH was taken down. My name is Christopher Boston and would NEVER recommend this place,The Big Red Doghouse or the Grooming Business Katie has started across the street. I took my Airedale Archie there since he was a puppy.Three grooming appointments he came home with a nipped ear, tongue and tail. The issue that made me leave, was Katie either nipped his ear for a 2nd time or he was bitten at the Red Doghouse ... read more
Updated review: got a email from the owner suggesting I take down my negative review. This is WILD!!!!!!! To be clear, we still do not feel appropriate care was given and we never agreed with her.
They provided extremely poor care for our puppy. We brought her in with an easily recognized problem which somehow was not addressed under anesthesia. We subsequently had to take her to emergency vet which without hesitation identified the infection and performed the necessary procedure. Even worse, after this they have failed to take ownership of their mistakes. Do not take your animal here.
DO NOT GO HERE FOR RABBIT SPAY/NEUTER!!!! DO NOT GO TO DR. CHEW!!!!! My rabbit wasn't eating the day after surgery, I called saying I was extremely concerned. They said to not bring her in and give her treats and or critical care. She didn't want treats but we syringe fed her critical care not knowing she was going through gi stasis. She died early on Sunday morning and her surgery was on Friday. We called them back to let them know she died AND THEY TALKED TO US LIKE IT WAS OUR FAULT SHE DIED!!! Shame on ALL OF YOU!!! I wou... read more
