If I can give a zero I would. This place crap. I believe the employees are in on the robberies here. Don't rent here is not worth it. This place is gated with a code required to enter and leave. But yet there's no damage to the gates? Haha what a joke. How can my unit get ransacked and they had time to go through all my stuff and take what they wanted. DON'T RENT HERE!!
I have been renting a space here for years. I have been irritated over the years with the regular rate hikes, but am dumbfounded at the last one. Nearly $100 increase, 30%! I have tried to call and have gotten no answer or response to my vm. I am currently looking for a new space for my stuff and all the other companies answer their phone or call me back, so it's not an industry thing. I def would not recommend this storage facility if you want a competitive rate. They lure you in with a low rate, but don't be fooled.... read more
Rented here years ago after moving from out of state and left traumatized after nearly everything we owned was completely ravaged and destroyed by rats. They claimed to have pest control and have boxes throughout the facility but those must be empty. The front desk staff got really strange when confronted as well, like they knew. I will say this, bring your own lock and get the hardest lock you can possibly find. Bait your unit for rats yourself. We brought our own lock, hard to pick. They decided to change the doors, by ripping out my lock. Once they changed the doors I came to pick up my new keys and check my unit. Surprise! All my items in the unit is gone. They left junk, and took all the nicer stuff. Whoever robbed the place took their sweet time shifting through everything by opening boxes. According to management, they don't have cameras. Came in looking for a unit to rent, had a plan for using it about a year or two. They showed me a unit that was perfect for me and was what I needed. The price was a bit high but was something I could deal with. After slowly moving all my thing in there about 3 months in they sent me a notice that they where Going rise the rent about $40 witch was something that I wasn't planing on. Stolen Items Don't leave your stuff here! My unit was locked when I arrived back at it a few weeks after storing my items. When I opened it, all of my big valuable items were stolen. The lock was not broken and was locked when I arrived. I had to put my combo in to get into it and unfortunately, my stuff is missing. We also talked to another man who was there at the same time and he said his tools were stolen/missing from his unit while his was still locked as well. DO NOT COME HERE. Upon signing up, they may ask you to write a review based on their service. DON'T. Everything was good at first -or so I thought. Until they decided to raise the pricing on the unit WITHOUT informing me of the increased price as they said they would upon signing up. They claim they sent me a letter to my apartment. First, I would give 0 stars if I could, but I can't. Now as to why? I wouldn't trust this place for storing your items. Not only do they raise the rent by a lot, but your things are not safe here. It may seem safe because of the entry codes needed to enter the property and then to enter your storage unit building. But they do not have cameras inside buildings and therefore thieves will break locks off and steal your belongings. The reason I left "Extra Space Storage (ESS) approximately 3 weeks ago, after 5 months renting (and moved my personal belongings to Palmyra Mini Storage) is because of Extra Space Storage Company's unethical and unprofessional practices.
